Referrals for PTC sites- What works for you?

I'm just curious what works for you with getting referrals for your PTC sites. Obviously the only way to make some $ with these sites is with referrals, so what is the trick? I've been trying traffic exchanges and such, but it seems I only get one every 30+ days or so. I want more than that. Anything you are willing to share with me?
