My papa is sick....

My father (biological father is sick). He has been coughing hard since early this week and now, he has no voice. We are worried because he has asthma and allergy. I am trying to get hold of a doctor, but I can't seem to be able to contact the hospital. My mama in law is recommending herbal Chinese medicine, but I am not sure if it will work because of his cough. I will check again. I think I will buy those leaves that will help bring back his voice. But I wonder about the cough medication. do you know of any medication, especially herbal or alternative, that can help his condition? thanks so much for the help! i appreciate it. take care you all and God bless you always! :-)
