What do you collect and why?

Ok, i know this has probably been done before. but i'm just curious of what you all collect. So please list what you collect, when you first got into it, and why...or any other stories about your collection. For example i have two things I collect. First one is anything to do with dolphins and dragons. I first got into them my freshman year of high school because dolphins facinate me and dragons always signified protection and strength to me. Second one is glass pipes. I love the designs and colors. some are even animal shaped. I started liking those about a year ago. simple huh? anyway, feel free to share your thoughts.

Hello gothgirl, I collect angels they represent such heveanly thoughts to me I got my first one from mt husband because he said I was his angel I saved him from his lonley life, since than my children and everyone else have bought them for me I have all kinds , big and small, ones that light up and ones that just sit and look pretty.

wow. your husband sounds like a sweet and thoughful guy. my fiance's mom also collects angels. she has a lot of pretty ones. that's cool. thanks for sharing

I was like that too. a few years before i stared collecting my stuff...i couldn't find anything that really interested me enough and everyone around me had collections already started. but then again. some of my interest have changed since then so I collect more of one thing now than the other.

I have been indulged in 3 important hobbies for 3 decades.
1. coin collecting - the study of which is known as numismatics.
2. Stamp collecting - the study of it is known as Philately
3. Book reading and collecting.
I enjoy spending time with the hobbies. Always there will be work and it is quite profitable too. IT requires money to keep it updated.
Hobbies are great pastime and it helps me to engage myself with it during leisure hours. Some of the hobbies are very absorbing, one will not notice the time that pssses without our knowledge.

from my child hood to till now i like to collect postal tickets its nice i have more then 50 countries postal ticket like usa, uk, china, australia india, japan, korea and many more

I love to travel and tend to collect some things when I do this. My favorite collection is my costume dolls from around the world. I have a large collection of postcards from countries that I have been to. I have a collection of foreign money. The ones I like best are an unusual looking triangular coin from the Cook Islands and the only three dollar note that I have ever seen.
I also really like dolphins. If you ever get the opportunity go to Monkey Mia in Western Australia and see the friendly wild dolphins that visit the beach there. I have also seen dolphins from a boat off the coast of New Zealand.
