who started on ebay and then gave up because of the fees?

i have started so many projects on ebay, from selling dvds to cds, ebooks to wedding dresses, to clothes and have always lost out. maybe its something i am doing wrong. when something does not sell when i know it should you have to put them backon again and again, the first time is free then you start getting charged for it. the website basically runs itself and i think the fees are slightly high, especially when they can afford so much advertising now, i see it everywhere. coupled with paypal this does not help the little guy. ebay is a little like gambling, youve either got to have alot of money or you just simply cant play. with ebay the odds are stacked against you when you sell your first item. i think that if your item does not sell you should be charged for it on your first 100 or so, to give you a chance of getting somewhere. the competition on there is amazing and i dont take anything away from that, but there is too much competition you have hardly a chance of selling anything. the other thing is that when you have alot of stuff to put on there it is so time consuming, isnt there an easier way to do this. do you really have to leave feedback, cant you tick a box that says: satisfied, not satisfied or not decided or something like that. oh the other thing is when you reach 1000 on your paypal it then gets restricted so you cant accept any more paypal payments from ebay. you have to send off all your reciepts and proof of postage, they are asking the impossible, not everyone keeps all their reciepts. then they tell you that because you couldnt give them all your reciepts they will hold on to YOUR money for six months and then you have to REQUEST it from then. in the mean time your ebay account is not getting the business because you cant now accept paypal. cant paypal do it so that they hold the money and then when you recieve an item from x seller you ick a box to say you have recieved it then the seller gets paid, thats got to be alot easier? i have found it very difficult to get anywhere, especially with products i have bought in ulk that sell anywhere else, but not on ebay, wierd. has anyone had similarexperiences with ebay and paypal in the past, have you bought loads of stock, only to find that ebay seems not to be the market to sell it through?

Ebay and paypal sucks. You should check out that site. paypalsucks. anyway. I have always been able to sell stuff on there, but have had probs with the ebay people themselves. they say that I can't sell this or that. I don't like those regulations. You can't sell a pr of nike shoes that you purchases b/c you don't have nike's permission. Well I didn't know that I needed Nike's persmission to resell a pr of shoes I purchased. I have begun to use ecrater. They are free. You should check them out.

i think ebay is way too complicated and should be made easier, for some people on there who have money its a quick buck, but for starter there not much hope.
