Cinema, Home, Computer. Where do you prefer to watch films?

I prefer to watch films on the big screen but up until recently the nearest decent cinema was over 1.5 hours away so my friends and I would only go if there was a big film we all wanted to see. Now that I've moved and the cinema is on 30mins down the road I thought I'd get to go more often, then I noticed the prices! So I generally end up until films are on DVD and watch them on my laptop but I prefer the cinema anythime *adds home cinema to wish list* How about you?

I've always enjoyed watching movies at the movie theaters. It's nice to have DVDs and watch movies at home because you can remain comfortable and talk and not worry about disturbing others, but my attention can also get directed in other places. At the movie theater, we're giving our full attention to the movie and it makes it easier to watch an entire movie. I also love the experience of watching a good movie with a lot of people because everyone reacts. You get screams at scary moments, tears at sad moments, and cheering in happy moments. There is no other experience like that to me.

The best film I've seen for audience reaction has to be Serenity (follow up to the Firefly series). There was laughter, gasps and tears. Which added to it all, especially on the second viewing 'cause then I was able to note peoples reactions a bit more as I already knew what was about to happen.

Thanks for the response. I'm also more likely to rent a DVD to watch with my family on the TV (or my laptop if they're not interested) rather than go to the cinema 'cause of the cost. If we ever do go to the cinema it's usually for a special occasion.
