Who thinks the Harry Potter books are just as entertaining for adults as well as children? I just finished the first book and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have enjoyed the series from the beginning. I know there has been a lot of controversy about them, especially from some concerned Christians. I, too, am a Christian, and as an adult don't have a problem separating the pretend from the reality of faith. I do think that most of the people who are against the books are really trying to protect their children from something. Though there are others who simply like to make a fuss about everything. I understand that book six is the last, the end of the series. I am a little sad about that.

Did u mean book 7? Yeah it is the last, but she's also gonna be publishing some kind of HP encylopedia for die-hard fans.

Wasn't there a story out a couple of weeks back about a book 8? Apparently, JK Rowlings daughter has been pushing her to write one.

I was reading them at the same time as my pre-1st grade nephew, and my 75 year old mother, my sister, another 12 year old nephew and my 30 something sister. Along with many of my friends and we are all addicted.

i haven't read any of the Harry Potter books but i watched all of the movies. Normally, I don't read the book version when I already watched it on the big screen. Anyway, harry potter movies are good, i like it that's why i watched all of it.hehe..

I agree. I have read them all and I think they are one of the best series written. The interest thing about the books are that they appear to be written for the age group of Harry and his friends. The only problem we have found is that we started my sons on them when one was 7, the other 5 and we stopped at book 5 as the last two are a little too much for them at the moment.

I think they are just as entertaing for adults and well as children. I started reading the series some time after the 3rd book came out. I was constantly being asked what I thought of the books and could not given anyone an opinion. I refuse to say something until I experience it myself. So, I barrowed a friends and thoughly enjoyed. I agree with what I read in an earlier post - regarding religion. Rowling is not trying to make up a religion or turn people into witches. You need to be able to seperate your faith, and real life from fantasy. I hope I worded that correctly so everyone will understand what I am trying to say.

I read the books together with my son and I became fan Harry Potter. It was a real pleasure to be child again and now, when I'm upset or sad I read Harry Potter and all problems became easier to resolve. Try and you'll see that I'm wright.

ME!! :) Yes, they are extremely clever. Full of amazing wonders, and twists and turns, and great characters too. I hope you continue enjoying the rest of the books catejames. (For those who liked the movies, the books are incomparably better!!)
