About eight years ago I was out with my sister (it must have been a day she liked me), and we were returning from the mall. We had had a good day, joking around, and not fighting in the least. As we turned into the housing section where my parents lived, we both saw a balding man (40ish) working on his lawn. His head was shining from the sun, and my sister and I looked at each other and burst into uncontrollable laughter. You should probably know my dad is balding, as are all of his brothers. I love them all and am not making fun. But that day, just the sight of his head set off the giggles for me and my sister. So I wonder, have you ever been struck by the funny over something completely mundane and normal? Where did you find the humor in the every day?

Lughter saves lives. So simple a fact, but proven true. I think I should go rent a dozen comedies and see how I feel afterward. : )

I don't know if mine counts but since every person does it I guess so. I made this awesome bean salad friday night and ate a lot of it. By Saturday morning I had the worst gas ever. Problem was that my 12 year old daughter was having a slumber party with a few girls that evening and was worried that I would funk-a-fy the house. So I went online and got a pile of home remedies to get rid of it. I made this weird concoction that included ginger, cinnamon, baking soda, blueberry tea. It was AWFUL but I didn't pass any gas that night but yesturday once the girls left I was passing gas every time I moved. We thought it was funny and started laughing.

Things are often funnier when we are taking a risk by laughing. For instance, if a child in class is joking with a friend while the teacher is teaching, the joke will then be much funnier than it normally would have been. I find myself laughing at the normal everyday things with friends all the time.

When my little granddaughter is around I laugh at what she says all the time even though other kids probably say the same thing. She is just 2 1/2.....I had bought these sparkly dots to put on the cards I make and she loves them. She stayed with me a week ago and she found all my sparkly dots and used all of them. When her mommy came to get her she didn't want to leave...well I told her I had to go to Michaels' to get her more dots. Then she would go. The other night she used what I had bought for her then turns to me and says.....you better get to the Michaels' store and get me some more dots! It amazes me that she can remember something I just mentioned to her! But her mom and I both got a giggle out of it!

I think children have a never ending supply of wit within them. I'm constantly amazed at what they say. They don't know how to temper what comes out of their mouths, and that is so refreshing! They have some of the most original thoughts!
