whats your favorite type of music to listen to?????

It's true that some peoeple hate listening to other music besides the music of their choice and some times that isnt right. though people have the right or whatever to listen to what ever they want to, does anyone think that if people were exposed to eachothers music it would bring us together?

Personally, I dont think music will bring people together. Im not sure what it is that will, but it is certainly not music. Nice try though. At least your mind is open to possibilities.

With all the fighting in this world between families,neighbors,countries and everyone else it seems, I guess if aliens or other form of life from another planet were to attack us on earth, that would probably, quickly unite us to stick together to defend ourselves,don't U think?

I listen to all types of Rock. Oldies, Alternative, Punk, etc. I think music can bridge the generation gap, but not change the way we think of other people.

Hey~ DON"T doubt. Think positive and believe in yourself! When I found out about karaoke, I liked to sing,but didn't think I could do anything but sing to myself. I entered a contest for fun and won my very first karaoke contest and people were actually asking for requests from me! Practice,practice practice!

i listen to all of that too, and for me it has changed the way i use to think about people for real. Rock is pretty much all i listen to but back when i didnt i honestly thought all of rock listeners were crazy cause i thought to myself how can anyone listen to that but now i've became one of those crazy people i thought i was.
like my whole life has changed i play the guitar and everything and even have this little band put together with friends from school, i doubt we go anywhere with it though but we have fun.

I love Jazz but then I do listen to other genres as well. Sometimes, for example, when you are driving for hours and hours, to listen to just one genre of music would really make the trip a bit dry and boring and that is when I would just jump from one channel to another listening to all sorts of music.

yea i know what your talking about when it comes to long road trips. that how i became addicted to rock music is just by being bored with the same type of music so i tried something else and found myself liking it more than the music i listened to before.

well, there are some people that just won't listen to some types of music, no matter what.
However, studies show that when you become exposed to something, you eventually begin to enjoy it more.
Maybe we would have more respect for people in general, but I doubt that it would really change anything.

well i hope it does change everything and yeah about those studies i know for a fact those are true cause i did exactly that. started listening to other music cause my girlfriend listened to it and eventually became an addict of it and i like it more than she does now/

Sometimes I listen to music I rarely notice when it comes to genre classification. I’m purely into alternative and sometimes R&B but there are times that I feel like listening to mellow ones or the classic ones which I barely do.
It’s true that music can bring us together. I have friends now that I knew through music. We chat for once and then realized that we do have the same type of music.

Well I am a HUGE music fan and have been all my life....My tastes in tuneage ranges from good old Jazz to Blues, from classic soft rock to alternative, from punk to old school goth, from classic piano to international....

I like different kinds of music, except those too modern or too noisy. I think the same taste for music can bring people together, but not only exposure to it.

i cant really put my finger on a specific musical genre mainly because i love almost all kinds of music. rap, rock, alternative, country, i like it all. but currently i love alternative rock groups such as barenaked ladies, matchbox 20, john mayer, ben harper, jack johnson, and the ever popular sublime. you could also say im an old rock fan as well, liking popular groups such as the rolling stones, kiss, and aerosmith to name a few.

I listen to pretty much everything. I'm not a big fan of hard core rap but I can listen to it if it's on. I'm still stuck in the 80's when it comes to my iPod though.

Over the years...I tried to broaden the choices of music I listen to. Yeah, some of the genres out there, I really dislike, but I think that there are aspects that every genre has is pretty much involved in every genre. I don't know if it will truly bring people closer together...there are always going to be musical feuds, but at least one can get a basic understanding in others and find common ground in music.
by the way, my faves are System of a Down, Nightwish, bands like that.

I like classic country and my teen-aged boys like rock. For awhile I didn't listen to their music, but after hearing some of it, I find I like it! I especially LOVE the Alice Cooper song that Brett Michaels of the group Poison sings: "I'll Never Cry". Some of the David Bowie songs from his movie "Labyrinth" I enjoy, and now that John BonJovi has gone country, I like his "Bang a Drum" and " Miracle". Now my boys have a lot more to talk with me about. So, YES, it does bring us together!

I listen to hip hop because it's so easy to dance to. The music just makes you want to move. I do think that people should listen to different types of music. I don't know if it would bring us closer together, but it would make more friendships happen because people have more in common. Hey, anything is worth a shot.
