I was looking through our Future Shop flyer and found that Sanyo has overcome the HD and Blu-Ray wars by introducing a player with one slot for HD, and one slot for Blu-Ray much like the players that have one slot for dvds and one for vhs - my older son has one of these.
Now have any of you had any experience with the hd and blu-ray comtinations, are they are good as getting the machines separately? We already have a HD one, but with the market turning to Blu-Ray, we already have some dvds and was thinking of buying a blu-ray, but when I saw this advertisement, I wondered if it was just a basic no frills or would it be better to get a Blu-Ray separately - it might not be until Christmas - that is when we get all the good stuff.

They started to have this combination HD AND Blu Ray player at Future Shop, it is made by Samsung. I guess someone got tired of the dvd wars.

The HD dvDS have the burgundy on top, the boxes are little smaller than the regular dvd boxes and a touch larger than cds. the Blu-ray dvds have the, of course, the blue strip on top and a lot of them are Disney movies. It is the same size as the Hd dVDS. The discs themselves are the same size as regular Dvds, but it is the box that is smaller. So that could count for your confusion. You probably assumed they were the same size as Cds and were in fact CDs.
