I wish I was traveling right now. Do you?

I wish I was someplace warm and sunny. I'd love to cruise the Caribbean someday - and this would be a good time to be there I think. It is in the mid to low twenties [Fahrenheit] here. And my father-in-law's funeral is Wednesday morning. I'm surrounded by grieving relatives, which is to be expected, and freezing anytime we go out the door. I can't imagine standing at graveside for the military service. Anyway, I'd really like to be someplace warm, sunny, and happy. What is it like where you are and where would you rather be? Think you'll ever get to go there?

I'm sorry to hear of your father-in-law's passing. I grew up in the Louisville, KY area but married in 2005 and moved to Chicago. Brrrrrrrrrrr!!! Before I got married I always thougth my now husband was crazy for "needing" a vacation in winter. Into my third Windy City winter, I now understand what he meant! Today we are under a wind chill advisory. It is overcast and 12 degrees right now and a balmy high of 19. These are all BEFORE the wind chill is factored in. We're expecting snow today. My husband and I actually met on a cruise in St. Thomas (on a cruise, same ship) in the winter and we go every year on a cruise in the winter. It is a much needed get away. You can find great bargains on Caribbean cruises in the winter, most especially if you can get away withing a month or so. Check out web sites such as Cruise Critic and they will point you in the direction of good pricing. Where I'd rather be? The Caribbean! Actually, I will be heading back there at the end of next month and I am really excited to go back. We're going to Aruba and Curacao. Never been to either before. My question I ask the natives is, "Since you live in paradise, where do YOU go to get away?" :)

Maybe they go skiing in Aspen!!! :-) You know, no matter where we live we always think someplace else is a nice change and long to got there. You'll have to post photos of your trip so we can vicariously enjoy it too.

You know, mostly they just smile or laugh. I never really get an answer. I'll keep trying though! I'll post pictures when I get back. I put a reminder on my calendar so I WILL do it... it's just when. I'm really exicted. We leave one month from today. It is freakin' cold here. Right now it is 2 and we're heading to -8. I am so glad I don't have to get out in this. Tomorrow will be better. High in the 20s!

I remember being on a cruise with my best friend. We danced, drank and just carried on. What fun that was! Whenever I need to 'leave' I always take that stroll down that beach in Nassau. Even with the snow I can stay warm and happy.

Oh, I know what you mean. I take myself back to our tour, too, as well as some other terrific vacations.

Maybe we could just keep traveling to all the spring-like places. When one gets too hot or too wet we move to the next! A Spring World Tour! Maybe the travel agencies should get on that idea.

Even though its not so sunny today here in California its not as cold as other places. I like the weather here. I would however like to travel to the carribean, Alaska, Ireland, Scotland and England one day.

Don't wait long to visit Alaska. We went a year and a half ago and it was one of the best trips we have had. We cruised up the inside passage then rented a car and drove about 30,000 miles in two weeks seeing everything we could. Go before the glaciers are gone. They are receding very rapidly.

I live in Bali, the tropical Island. We just got a hard rain last week and the sun is just shining again these two days. The temperature rise from moderate to be very hot in the afternoon. It is clear and sunny but I would prefer it will be a bit cloudy. So that it would not be too hot in the afternoon..

I suppose even paradise has its extremes - too hot, too wet, etc. But I'm sure you have more sunshine than we. Enjoy some for me!

I went to Grand Cayman in August. I would love to be back on 7 Mile Beach right this very moment with a drink in my hand and my toes buried in the warm white sand.

Well, the weather in my city is moderate right now but I am sitting in my office cabin with the air conditioner blowing above my head at its coldest and I wana go to a warmer place. I would also love to cruise the Caribean. I love those beaches there. I would also like to go to Australia. I'm not very sure if I could make it to these places but would try my best to make it sometime.
