i love pitbulls, i think they are the same as any animal, if you treat them poorly, u will get the same back from them. i have not had one, but all my friends did and we've never had issue with them. my 1 yr old nephew rides the biggest one like a horse and the dogs are protective of him, not aggressive towards him.

I think any type of dog depends on how the owner trains them. I think it is unfair how they just assume certain breeds will be aggressive because a few "bad" dog owners taint the rest of the good dog owners out there.

they're actually illegal in the UK, and have been about all my life, so I think I've only ever seen one, in my whole life. I've never met one. my opinion is that they are probably no better or worse than any other breed, as a pet, so long as they have a confident, caring owner, who can be their leader, and treats them well, with no violence or aggression to the dog. with all these so called "problem breeds" it's how they are raised. some people in the UK are desparate to get Rotties banned in the UK, and I've only ever met one Rottie that wasn't a wonderful, soppy, good natured dog. it's just that they are a bit fashionable with the sort of people who get them to look tough, and don't have what it takes to correctly raise a dog that's stronger than they are.

Pit Bulls are like any other dog, in that their behavior is learned. If they are taught to be lovable, they are lovable pets. If they are taught to be vicious, they are terribly vicious. donjoe86 P.S. This is my first visit and I appologize if it was inappropriate for me to jump in like that.

I have two pit mixes and they are very loveable. Unfortunately, some people treat their animals badly or raise them to fight. Then these animals get a bad reputation. It's not the animals' fault.

Well, I've never been brutally attacked by them and I love all dogs and some of the pictures I've seen of them are so cute. :) Never owned one, but I wouldn't mind having one or any kind of dog for that matter.

I like pitbulls they are very nice dogs as long as they are taught right they are not as mean as people sem to think although they are just as temperamental as any other dog they could snap at any time, all dogs have that ability so as long as they are being handled with care they are sweet as can be.Have a super day.

Although pit bulls do have a bad reputation, I think it really depends more on the way they are raised. They are more easily provoked than many breeds, but a dominant owner who cares enough to have their pit well-trained and socialized will have a good dog that is easier to control.
