The Auto/Petrol/Government Industries will not change unless/until we start changing our habits and preferences. Complaining about gas prices and smog is really moot, considering it won't be long before we have exhausted international supplies and begun to refine and deplete our own.
Prognostications aside, check these out when you get a chance. Sign up, write a letter, show interest, request information, create buzz, be an active participant in CHANGE. My children's children will really appreciate it ;-) Thank you for listening.
Of particular interest to me is the Air Car. They have just hooked up with TaTa Motors in India (the maker of the no-frills, $2500 car in the media recently). They actually make a negative emission vehicle-you can sign up for info from their website.

Wow, thanks for the information! I'm a pretty "environmental' person, so the information really helps in many ways. Keep up the good job of starting discussions like these because I'm sure everybody benefits from it (as well as the environment). I'll try to pass this around as well!

We could do a lot from our homes to make a difference for now. I agree with you that we should show our support and create a lot of noise but looking at things right now, we don't actually have a choice in not looking for alternatives. Eventually, we and our government has to work together in looking for alternative sources of energy that would not harm the environment. I actually believe that there are already some people who have invented cars that just run on water or other machines but its just doesn't have the support it needs for it to prosper maybe because it would be harm the big corporations and economies that are thriving on oil. Now is the time to support those new ideas and inventions and to pour money into them. My favorite is the car that run on compressed air. It is indeed a breakthrough!

Hi dear
thanks for lovely topic, sure Air car concept is very good and as we can use wind mill to get power generation so if worked and researched, some thing can be used in Auto industry. Speed may not be as fast as gasoline but atleast u can drive a car at less cost and Eco friendly.
Here in Pakistan we have CNG ( its compressed natural Gas) used in car along with Gasoline, its cheaper and environmental friendly as compare to Gasoline
So hope for best
