do you have better way to refrain from smoking?

My Husband smokes too much every day,he knows it's harmful,but can not control himself.and i don't know how to hely him refrain from smoking.i'm heard that a kind of pill can help him,i'm not sure.do you have better way to refrain from smoking?thanks for your help.
