firstly, i am not american (canadian) but i only live about an hour away and where i work, we of course have a ton of dealing with people in the us...
i got an email forwarded to my at work that mentioned all though obama claims to be roman catholic, his REAL roots are Muslim which his party is quietly hush hushing!!
this information begs the question, if he wins, will his Muslim shine through?
thoughts?

Whatever his true religious beliefs, I doubt that Obama is going to become US's first Black president. I do not believe that the USA is ready for a Black president: There are too many unresolved issues between White and Black Americans, which is seen daily in their relationship and therefore, I believe that the majority of White America, like Howard Hughes (who avoided Blacks, not because of racism, but because he knew the depth of oppression the Blacks suffered and feared Blacks would avenge themselves as soon as they get the chance), would oppose having a Black president for fear of some kind of revenge.

Ccominghome28 - "Whoever has the majority has the power and will use it to their advantage."
Cominghome28, why do you think this is so? I thought the best interest of the nation was to be the main concern of a president.

I'm sorry coming but I find your remarks both racist and sexist. So does that mean that since all the previous presidents have been male that the focus is soley on helping men get ahead? I don't think so. The fact of the matter may just be that this country is starting to evolve, and realize that no matter what your race or gender we all bleed the same color. The focus has been on helping minorities long before either of these candidates entered the political arena.

If that actually happend I think it would say more about the US than Obama. If one person can turn a democratic nation to a religion against their will I'll eat my hand

cher, please read the article at the following link

I personally think it is a sad state of affairs that our presidential election has come to this. And the Clintons should be ashamed of themselves for trying to prey on Americans fears of terrorist attacks by spreading these vicious lies about Obama. As far as I'm concerned it makes them no better than Bush and the way he preyed on our fears in order to invade Iraq aftr 9/11.
I also think that in a country where we are supposed to pride ourselves on our freedoms, freedom of religion being one of them, that this should even be an issue is disheartening.
I'm an Obama fan, and even signed up to volunteer for his campaign. I came to my decision after a lot of research into all the candidates. The sad fact is that these tactics the Clinton machine is using may work in the long run just for the simple fact that people won't take the time to do the research themselves.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a Democrat. I've voted Republican since 1984. This year may be different. All this talk about Obama being black and Clinton being a woman...it doesn't matter! Anything's better than the current administration.
Now as far as Obama turning the country into some fundamentalist state, that's like telling the Quebecers to give up French...good luck buddy! It'll never happen!
That paranoia existed in the 1960's when Kennedy was running for office and the media made a fuzz that he would consult the pope before making some legislative decision. We like to smear people for their ethnic background or beliefs, without first seeing their track record. If anyone spent the time to read his writings or legistative agenda, they will find that Obama's pretty moderate and not as far to the left as Clinton or Edwards are.
And most importantly, he's not an evangelical crusader like the guy in office now!
