Creating a Macro

I have been told that there is something called "macro" that is like an automatic sequence of commands that you can launch at any time. For example in a game I used to play, you could set up a macro to automatically write a phrase just by clicking in a button. Is there something like that for Windows? Is it possible to make my computer write and click automatically?
