So far my favorite bank for short term savings is the Bank of Montreal, I am over 50 so I do not have to pay atm charges, I also have a US savings account, and my favorite and only online bank is ING Direct for long term savings. I also have a checking account on CIBC but I do not like it is because of the long line ups at the counters when I have to get a $20 bill changed to smaller currency. I do not like long line ups.

I have my RRSP in the CIBC. That was the first bank I joined. I later joined the credit union when I got married, but went back to the CIBC. We bought our car using the Bank of Montreal and since they had a good US banking savings account, I joined, but stuck with the CIBC until I noticed that there they have these long line ups of old people who do not know how to operate an ATM so I opened up a savings and checking account at the Bank of Montreal. It was toss between that and the Royal Bank, but the Bank of Montreal does not have service fees for older people.

The only bank I have ever dealt with is the CIBC. I have never dealt with any other so I have nothing to compare them to. I am 50 years old and I have had a bank account since I was 15 years old, so that is a lot of years. I have my visa with them also, and I have had mortages and personal loans with them over the years. I have had a few minor problems with them but not enough to be unsatisfied with them. I like to use the same institutes for all my needs so I just stick to the one instead of having to go to several different ones.

I deal with the CIBC but I really hate the lineups on Pension day. I was thinking of switching to the Bank of Montreal that is kitty corner across the street and closer to walk since they moved the CIBC a little farther along the street. I also have my CIBC linked with my ING high interest savings account since the CIBC does not pay high interest unless I have a high amount.

I use the presidence choice bank account, cause there are no fees. I havn't had a problem with them so far and i've been with them for over 5 years. They also have a savings account similar to ING with high interest rates and no fees as well as no min deposit. i love it.

I was thinking of getting a President's Choice because we do all our shopping at the Stupidstore, I mean, the Superstore and it would be easier getting money instead of walking all through this horrible cold weather we are having. But don't you have to have a minimum balance in it to gain the high interest rate?

I don't have favorite bank but thinking to swicth my savings and RRSP to ING. I heard their saving and investment interest is higher than others. I will have to find out and compare before switching though.

I have my high interest savings in ING, and since I am almost 65, I will be cashing out my RRSPS and converting them to RIFS. But I was thinking of having a GIC at ING, only I want one that has both American and Canadian funds - not known for my loyalty.
