Okay I have two children in it this year and I need some ideas!
One is in grade 7 so make it a bit challenging and my son is doing his first ever and is in grade 3. He has an Eyeclops he got for Christmas and would like to have it in the fair. It magnifies stuff by 200 times and is real cool.
Could you give me some science fair ideas? PLEASE!

There are lots of sites with science fair ideas for various age groups.
I was just going through a few yesterday for my 7 year old son.
But I didn't have the time to check them out in detail.
Maybe you'd like to check ask.com and put your question out there?
Is eyeclops a magnifying glass? If so, does he know how to start a fire with one?

yes i myself remember making a "magic candle" which lights up by the touch of a magic vaunt for a science fair when i was in 7th grade. Get one packet of potassium permagnate and a bottle of glycerin(bot available from a medical shop) the get a candle and stick made of glass or wood. Put a pinch of potassium permagnate around the wick of the candle, dip the stick in the glycerin and just touch the potassium around the wick of the candle and the stuff burns and the candle gets lightened up...now please be careful while doing this...

yeah i mean it... coz after my science fair my table was full of these chemicals, and some one wiped all these with a piece of news paper and put it along with the waste, and after some time the paper started burning...luckly noting worse happend... so be careful ... never allow both the chemicals to get in contact with each other, or never touch potassium permagnate while you hand is wet with glycerin or vise versa... so please be careful...

seventh grade - at one science fair we went to a 7th grader made a device out of a propane tank (portable variety) and I forget what the device is called but it created a static electricity in the air and as you approached it your hair would start standing up on end. It was hilarious! needless to say she won first prize as well as over-all best.
