If anyone has been paying any attentionto the Republican Primaries by using the major news channels would think that McCain had this election wrapped up. Just to prove it two days ago I start a discussion called Republicans and Democrats, in which I explain the difference between Republican voters and Democrat voters. I got responses saying that I was tring to sway independent voter to McCain. So I have decided to fix this by dispelling the myth that McCain is running away with this election. Mitt Romney in the lead with 59 Mike Huckabee 40 John McCain 36 Thompson even though he has drop out has 5 Ron Paul 4 Rudy 1 With Florida coming up and is a winner take all, that gives the winner 57. Rudy is leading right now, and that would put him in second with 58, one behind Romney. Also with Super Tuesday coming up with winner take all like New York with 101(most likely going to Rudy), and California with 173, the Republican primary is far from being over. One last thing to my fellow Republicans out there think about this why is the media backing McCain so much.

I wonder how much the media is trying to influence the elections or backing certain candidates, as some have claimed. There are so many pundits on TV now, I can't believe they're all part of a conspiracy. There are many different voices, not a single monolithic media. Anyway, McCain clearly isn't running away with it, and Giuliani could come from behind with some big wins. Maybe McCain is considered the favorite based on national polls, predicting him to do well in the remaining primaries. I don't know. Again, I don't see why or how the media would be backing him over the other candidates. I'm more inclined to think it's just sloppy reporting. McCain is likely to appeal to independents though, right? He's the most moderate of the GOP candidates.

It is interesting that many of the pundits use the same phrase to diecribe candiateds or events. It is like the first one to use the wording and the rest follow. Maybe we need some orginal thinkers?

McCain has been a good friend to the press for a long time now. Now the press is returning the favor. Besides, McCain gives them the chance to back a Republican without having to give up any Democrat policies. McCain is the best of both worlds to them.

Not only that but Romney has won 3 primarys and come in second in a couple of more. McCain has won 1 primary, and Huckabee has won 1 primary. Maybe the news anchors can't count and only know about the primarys they cover. It is not only the Republicans that are getting false reporting by the media. The Main Street Media reported that Senator Clinton won the Nevada Primary (correct) but failed to mention that Senator Obama received the most delgates. This maybe the reason people have voted Fox news as the most trusted News (28%) http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/fox_news_trusted/2008/01/13/63997.html Checkout this report on a study done by Sacred Heart University. Very interesting is that 80% or more of the people beleive the meida is bias. Interesting summary of the study.

First and foremost, kudos to keeping track of the delegates. Secondly, the media is in love with McCain because they need a classic comeback story. McCain has tried before and failed miserably. With such a wide open race and no clear cut winner, the media has a chance to sway the undecided votes by promoting one over another. Lastly, I do want to point out that by pure numbers, no candidate will mathematically have the race wrapped up after Super Tuesday. Just a thought.
