Does anyone still have bills mailed snail mail? I don't do internet banking so we do have them sent to our house. This little handy dandy opener makes my life easier everyday. Do you use a letter opener on a regular basis to save your fingers from getting paper cuts?

I just take a chance! LOL....most of what I get in the mail I walk from the mailbox to the garbage. I don't get alot of things I need to open. But I do have a sissors in the silverware drawer just in case I have one that's hard to open!

Hi my friend, Yes, I do use a letter opener, and have for years, although funny you should ask this question because I have misplaced it, it's been missing for about a week, and I've had this same letter opener for over 20 years.....I have got to find it.

Oh no. Hope you didn't throw it away. When the one I am using gets dull, I'll be sure to get another one. Saves time and fingers. Thanks for responding.

I used to use a letter opener, but now, I pay all but two of my bills online. I do not use a bill paying service or my banks services, I go to the websites of the companies I am paying and pay directly. It seems much easier, and it saves me money on checks and stamps. Most of the time, it takes less than 24 hours for it to post to my checking account and I can continue to balance my checking account every few days. I love the technology. No more paper cuts for me.

We still are not comfortable paying bills online or doing any banking online. Too much information given out across the net. Sounds like you have a good plan and am glad it works. Thanks for responding.

I used to have a letter opener I had for years and years. It vanished and I had no idea where it went until this last year when I moved and am now renting rooms from my ex-husband. I found my letter opener - he took it when he moved out :( it was mine, I had it years before he and I met but to keep peace in the house don't want to say anything. When I move out though he's going to be missing a letter opener.

Yea it's hard to believe we're living in the same house right now - it was a very ugly divorce and he's still far from my favorite person but for the sake of the grandkids it is best for now... Oh, don't tell him what I told you though :)

Yes I get bills sent to me by snail mail. I like to have them in my hand and can keep the ones I need or want to keep. I do most of my paying of bills online though. We have a letter opener but I usually don't use it. When I am in the same room as it or think about it I will use it.

Have you had any problems paying your bills online? Our kids think I am living back in the dark ages because I want to see all the bills, pay them and have a receipt. Thanks for responding.

So far no problems with paying them online. I do keep a paid receipt for myself. It is so much easier for me and don't have to worry about having to take mail to the post office. No days it is unsafe to put mail out in your mail box, people see you have your flag up and they steal the mail. I guess we have to take chances no matter how we pay our bills anymore.

I do,every now and then I will pay something online. I still write paper letters too!! I can sit down and write a 4 page letter in no time but I have a hard time finishing a sentence in e-mail.I love the different stamps and I have so many free address labels.I donate a little cash and they send them.

I've never paid a bill online. I have bought items from a couple of sites online using my credit card and it all worked out fine. My father doesn't have a computer so I do write to him. Thanks for responding.

I do still receive a few bills through snail mail. I own a wonderful butter knife that I use for a letter opener. Once I thought of buying a "real" letter opener but thought better of it since my knife works so well. lol. I do, however, pay all my bills online. Takes me five minutes to pay all my bills and it cost me nothing. I've been doing it for years and so far no problems.

I get most of my bills by mail. I should actually tell them not to send them because it is a waste of paper. It is good to have a paper copy of the really important ones though. I don't use a letter opener. I've always just used my fingers. I don't usually get paper cuts from opening mail. lol generally I'm too impatient to go and get an opener anyways.

Having a paper receipt of a paid bill has always been a benefit. Since I don't have a list of current bills, account numbers, etc. it's easier to pay and mail for me. I can refer back to a bill if there is an issue. Lucky you to never get any paper cuts. I always had one before I started using the little opener. Thanks for responding.

I do all my banking online so not having paper bills wouldn't be the end of the world. All of my bills are online. Even my medical services plan can be paid online. I find its simple to do and saves me lots of time. I can go back and check all my transactions as well. I think that it is useful to have the paper copies because billing companies often mess up. I want to make sure I'm not overbilled.

I do all online banking but for some reason we still get a copy of our cell phones in the mail. Weird. But I used to live by my letter opener untill my son thought it would be great to use as a sword and I threw it out. (It was up but he's a climber)

Looks like I am outnumbered by the amount of people who do their banking online. I know it's easier but also feel it's too risky. I am an old lady with old ideas...lol Thanks for responding.
