Messed Up Account Status

I did it again. I used my debit card to pay for one of Disney book special deals and my checking account is messed up. I was doing offers on InBoxDollars and decided to sign up for a Disney book deal so that I could make it to payout and get my great-nephew a nice gift for his coming birthday in March. I thought it was a smart idea to kill two birds with one stone. It backfired. I little while after I did the application, I recieved a letter from the Disney Movie Club. They said that since I was a member of their club, I could not be a member of both and they would refund my money. At the time, the charge was still pending and then it dropped off. I figured that was the end of it, so I spent the money. Today, I just happen to go to my account to check my balance and it was zero. I panicked. Surely, there was nothing that I had forgotten about. Come to find out, Disney had took the money. When I called them, they said the books were on the way. But, that does nothing to put my money that was left over back in my account. Nor does it stop me from receiving an overdraft fee. Which they claimed they were going to pay. So I called my bank to do a disbute resolution investigation. I will not be getting my money returned to me until that is over. GEEERRRRR, I am so upset, but what can I do. I sure hope that I have learned my lesson this time.

You just have to wait until the money is returned and make sure when there is a dispute, not to spend the money. Find out first. What I do is make sure that I have at least a certain amount in my bank and do not go down below that. You have to wait until Disney returns your money. It has to go through their books first.

Ok how many times is that now Rozie, tsk tsk! I would be frustrated too and angry at Disney for saying they would refund the money, and then low and behold they charge you and send the books anyways!!!! Its good you were able to dispute it with your bank and get it sorted.

I am a sucker for a deal. I pray that I have learned my lesson this time. I am now over $81.00 overdrawn in my account. However, my bank promised to reverse the charges, after the investigation. Being totally broke really sucks.

Oh my goodness, that would have made me very upset too. If they told you they were returning your money then they never should have kept it and sent you the books. From now on if that happens you should make sure the money is credited back to your account before you spend it. I'm sorry that happened to you.
