Picture this: You are living in a rented house, your landord keeps bothering you every end month, he sends reminders before endmonth and on the 30th or 31st he is on the door demanding for house rent. Then all of a sudden, he stops calling you, he stops coming to pick rent and when you try calling him he cannot be reached, two months, three months, four months........he hasnt shown up and the only contact you had was his cellphone number! what step will you take??? I think I will continue living there and wait for anyone to claim the house!!! What about you? Will you move out?????

oh no. i'm going to move out! since the landlord suddenly vanished, i don't know what happened to him, he might have been involved in some criminal act, got killed but the killers might not be satisfied yet and might go to the house, suspect me as an accomplish of the landlord and kill me! or, the landlord got killed and his body thrown some place that cannot be discovered and he might haunt me in the house to call for my help to find his body and give him a burial! eeeeee!!! i don't want that to happen! what's worst, the authorities might suspect me and turn me as a suspect! .

After a period of time, I would start a claim for adverse possession, uncontested the house would become mine all the best urban

Oh my God! What if it is contested and you are asked to payback for all the years and months you have been staying without paying rent? I'd rather keep quiet and contineu living without raising an alarm. Thanks for your quick response.

I would call the police or at least some consumer protection lawyer. If I stay, he could come back from vacations and want his money all at once, if I go he could say I didn't advice him of the move. Of course this is highly hypothetical as around here contracts states an contact address and payment are by bank transfer.

It good for you that contracts state all the addresses and payments are done by bank transfers! You are abit safe there! here you have to give the money/cash to the landlord every month. Thanks for sharing.

I think I will stay. But if ever he showed up again to collect the rents and I don't have the money. LOL! I'll ask a little extension so I can look for the money to pay for him.
