I'm just wondering if how much time each one of us spends time surfing the net. May it be, doing research, or posting at myLot, or playing online games. Was it worth the effort? They say that the internet is a Goldmine.... Do you agree?

Yes, I agree, the internet is a goldmine! I spend 8 hrs a day, working with a computer at work! Then I get home and spend about 8 hrs on my computer! I go to 3 sites like mylot, and various other sites that I visit each day! Very rarely do I have time to play any games, but when I do, I play chess, solitaire, freecell, and blackjack!

I can see that you spend so much time with the internet at work and even at home. Just a question.... Don't you feel any eye strain or perhaps side effects?

You know, I've been wondering about that! Before I started getting on computers I was having trouble with my eyes anyway! From 1990 to 2005, I drove a truck, and I was having trouble with my eyes then! I finally had to get reading glasses to read only! But my eyes would get tired sometimes! Then in 2005 I had to quit driving, and then I started getting involved with computers, and my eyesight hasn't improved, but I haven't noticed it getting worse! But it does worry me, and every chance I get, I get off the computer, because I can't take the chance of hurting my eyesight, I mean, who ever heard of a blind country western singer? But really, just as soon as I start getting fatigued, I get off the computer no matter what!

Yes that is a good idea, not to strain the eyes so much. Its one of the best senses and we should take care of it. By the way, I have read some ideas as to how to do some things to relax and improve circulation in the eyes. This has worked for me, and its actually free. You can do it anytime. If you feel like your having an eye strain or fatigue simply rub the palm of your hand for a couple of seconds and when you feel that there is heat already, simply put both your palm to your eyes (with your eyes close)until there is no more heat. You can do it twice or thrice. The heat from your palm will increase the blood circulation giving your eyes better oxygenation and relaxing effect. I know you were not asking for an opinion but just my way of sharing. Besides this is also the reason why we are here. So have it a try.

I am a student and I spend half of my day at school. So on weekdays I can only use the internet at least 2 to 3 hours. But when I have my day free, I can spend as much as the whole day doing stuff and surfing the internet. I don't know but I always get satisfaction everytime I surf the internet and discover things learn new sites that give me what I want. Surfing the internet is a life long experience. If I want to learn new stuff, I'd search the internet and it gives me results of hat I need in a jiffy.

I wish I could find the Goldmine one day. But i think it really needs time and effort to hit the jackpot. Meaning its not a quick rich scheme to earn money. But definitely if you put your time and effort on it, it will surely give you something in return.

I spend about 3 hours online responding to comments in a social network and responding to discussions in mylot. Sometimes, I just leave my computer running, connected to the internet to download stuff while I watch programmes on the television. If you take that into account that I would be spending six to seven hours online. The internet IS A GOLDMINE but not to us, to the other people such as website owners since they are earning money from the traffic. We are helping hundreds of webmasters earn every second we are on the internet. I sure wish I could earn lke the, my blog isn't getting any views at all.

Thanks for the response Jerrymouse... But I'm sure with the time you spend on the internet, you will surely gain later on. Although I am new to this set up, I believe that there are plenty of ways to earn through the internet. Perhaps your blog just needed exposure so that it will be exposed to a lot of traffic. I think there are free programs that would deliver traffic to your site or blog. Have you tried it?

With your online time of 8 hours... are you gaining something like knowledge, information or perhaps earning money? I think with the time you stay online and with knowledge and information at hand, you have a big opportunity to earn....

I can’t really tell. I spend time on the Internet when I don’t have school, and except when I have to go to the comfort room because obviously I cant bring my PC there hehehe.. I spend so much time in the Internet really. I love being online because I discover new things, I love reading new articles; almost everything online is useful to me though some are already nonsense.
