Literacy day

Literacy day is in a couple days. The kids are doing there fun reading things at school today. They have a professional story teller coming to the school and going to the class rooms. I don't know if I will do anything extra on sunday I already read to my kids all the time. Half an hour with my oldest before bed and all through the day with my youngest. They both love books which i love as well I'm a constant reader. You doing anything extra for literacy day?

As a primary school teacher I have had some fantastic literacy days. One time an author came into school and did a workshop with the children. Another time all teachers swamped classes and did a book activity the children choose which story and activity they wanted. I read a children's picture book about a penguin and the children made their own penguin pencil or pen holder. I love reading and I try to encourage in children a life long love for reading.

OOOHHHH my child loves pengiuns. Just this past winter she has started liking them, but she loves them. Do you still know how to make that se would adore that.
I too love reading, and when I volunteer at the school you can see which kids are read to and which aren't it is sad that so many parents don't enjoy reading to there kids...I love it. And now that my 7year old can read herself she is off and reading like a bomb shell. Everything she can get her hands on she will read
it is great. We really enjoy the Rainbow Fairies seriers and my secret unicorn!
