It's been a couple of decades since the Celtics were a force to contend with in the NBA. Back in the days when they had Bird, McHale, Parrish, DJ and Ainge. It was the Celtics vs Lakers, it was Magic vs Bird. Those were the good ole days of Boston. Do these Celtics of 2008 compare to that of the 80's? Back then, they had 3 perennial all-stars in Larry, Robert and Kevin. This year, they have a dominant power forward/center named Kevin Garnett, a hot shot forward in Paul Pierce and an accurate sharpshooter named Ray Allen. All three are go to guys. These Celtics of '08 have dominated the league. It was argued that they are in the East where the competition is weak. In defense of Boston, they went on a West Coast trip and beat some of the most formidable foes in that Conference. How would you compare today's Celtics to Bird's Celts of the '80s? Will they win it all? Can they beat San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix or the Lakers in a 7-game champ series?

I think the Boston Celtics of the 80's are one of the best if not the best. Todays Celtics can win the championship if they set aside personal ambitions and accolades and concentrate on winning for the team and for their loved ones! I am a San Antonio fan!

Well, I must admit the Spurs are a great team. In every position they have an all star. Duncan is the greatest of all time, Parker is becoming the league's best point guard, Manu Ginobli is the most clutch shooting guard in the West and Bowen is a defensive marvel. I believe that Boston might have a hard time with San Antonio if they meet in the Finals. It definitely will be one of the most exciting ones if they both make it.
