Okay for those who have waited with baited breath..hehe...I just got my photos back that I had taken of my special Christmas tree which was like a miracle.
Most of my friends here will remember that before Christmas I was rather depressed as it looked like I wouldn't be able to have a Christmas tree at all this past Christmas....I kind of even whined about it in a discussion, "Have You Ever Wanted Something....And.." So the discussion also allowed folks here to list things they would like to have but maybe due to low funds couldn't have either.
So I have to admit I was almost obsessive over the fact I just plain couldn't afford to get a tree, and it would have been the first time in my life ever that I wouldn't have a tree.
So then a miracle happened...some MyLot conspirators (Hehee) pooled together somehow..I know the identity for sure of one of the MyLotters, but she refused to tell me who else was involved....drat!!
Anyway, next thing you know I'm getting an email from this Christmas tree company that friends of mine have bought me a tree and to expect it to be delivered via UPS....sure enough it arrived on Friday, December 14th. I began to call it my "love" tree as I truly viewed that this tree was a real special tree given to me with love by my friends here. And the real surprise or miracle was that the tree has lasted S-o-o-o-o long and stayed as fresh as the day I got it....uh, well until just a few days ago, were yes, it has dried out a tad...I still have it up, but this will probably be the last weekend I do have it.
Anyway...I photographed the tree...actually about a week ago, but only got the film developed today....so now I have photos and memories of my special miracle "love" tree.
Okay to turn this as a discussion....did you ever have a holiday where things didn't look too bright...any holiday or special occasion and maybe you were depressed about....but then some little miracle occurred that changed everything and made the occasion or holiday special???

Dag, sorry I missed all of the action Pye.
I think the tree event was pretty awesome.
As for your discussion part, I really didn't have a holiday where things didn't look too bright. And there weren't any instant luck-miracle changes that occured, at least not like what you described.

It is just so beautiful Pye :)) Are you going to upload any more? Maybe into your profile? I would love to see what you have. I think its wonderful you are still enjoying it. That is what your friends wanted in the first place. It was for your pure unadulterated pleasure. It is quite fitting in truth, not to mention honor to your friends that it is still up.
We have a Santa in my Husbands and my life that has helped us at Christmas time since the first year we were married. Many Christmases would have been bleak for us with out him. He still does and now that 5 grand babies has come along its as needed as ever :))

Actually all the photos I took are pretty much the same...So not much difference but I have another photo here
I feel sad now...I'm probably going to be taking the ornaments and lights off tomorrow then take the tree down on Monday..I feel like I'm going to be losing a friend now...waaahhhh
But I did so enjoy this tree, perhaps more than any other I've ever had.
I'm so glad to hear you have your own "Santa" that has been helping you out and has brightened up your own Christmases. :)

That is a special tree that must have been while I was gone alot between me and Zues both not feeling so well I was gone alot , but I do remember that one ...
I don`t remember if I responded or not cause I didn`t feel well and wasn`t at the puter for long periods at a time and if I remember right that was a long post even longer than this one ...
But yes last New Years was one I`ll never forget , friends went and bought a scooter for me as a gift and surprised me with it ...
I had been needing one and couldn`t get one myself so they went and got one for me still I cry when I think about it ...
I`m so happy to be here more ...
Zues suddenly is back to his ol self feeling much better , I`m just wondering how long that will last ....
So I`ll be here more I hope ...

My prayers go to you keepermykitty for both you and Zues that both of you feel better....That was such a wonderful thing of your friends to get you that scooter for you. Yes, when things like this happen and you get something so unexpectedly it almost seems "magical" doesn't it?

I do feel sad now though...I took down all my decorations (finally) last week except the tree...but alas, tomorrow might be my last day with it...I think even my kitties will miss it as they loved to sleep under their little private forest. Being the Scenic designer in me from college days, all those "presents" under the tree were actually empty boxes I wrapped up to look like presents..hehe.

Actually I had the same thing happen a few years ago. I was going through a really bad time and didn't have money for a Christmas tree. I had thought of going out in the woods and getting a branch to use, better than nothing, but I was really depressed about it.
At that time one of my sisters was a bar tender at a small bar/golf course and I was 'visiting' with her at work one night. I had mentioned the 'tree situation' and the next day she called and told me she had something for me the next time I came out her way (I was taking classes at the college a couple miles from her house then).
Well, it seems a lady I didn't even know heard me talking to my sister and after I left she gave my sister $20 and told her to give it to me - that I had to have a real Christmas tree.

Aww..that's so sweet..this woman that gave your sister the money, was she a stranger or a regular customer? But that was wonderful of her--I bet you remember that Christmas with as much fondness as I did with mine this past Christmas

That is a beautiful tree. I can't think of anyone who deserves a miracle tree more than you. I'm so glad you were able to enjoy it for such a long time. It is fun giving things to people who are so appreciative, so I'm sure the givers are getting a kick out of your postings and your photographs.
As to your question in the discussion, I can't think of any such occasions at the moment.

What a beautiful tree it is, no wonder you don't want to take it down. It truly is a love tree, I bet you will never forget it. It really was a magic tree, that is why it stayed green so long. I think it is starting to dry out because it doesn't want to stay around for Valentines Day. I think the tree says, I'm outta here, this is not my holiday.LOL

Pyewacket I do not remember a christmas like the one you talk about. I pretty much had crappy christmas' growing up because my parents spent all their money on christmas gifts on our older sister. She was and still is the Golden child.
I have great christmas now because of by beloved family and friends. I do not care if I have a christmas tree or gifts its all about being together and the love now for me.

Awww...that's so wrong that your parents always favored your older sister...maybe I'm lucky that I DON'T have brothers or sisters to squabble with. Feeling sad today...I took the tree down today....even my kitties seem to be missing it..they used to love to sleep under their little forest

Morning Pye,....what a beautiful tree, and such a great story behind it. I remember when all this happened and I was very happy for you.....your Christmas turned out to be quite a memory for you.
I'm not sure if you recall about my little pine tree that my daughter and her fiancee' brought over a few days before Christmas. It's the one that's about 3' and is still in the pot. That was my little miracle for the season, for if they didn't get me one, it would have been my first Christmas without a live tree in 60 years.
It's still here in the basement with me, and thriving well so far. It lost very few needles and is nice and green. I debated on putting it outside, but something made me change my mind and I kept it down here with me.......so far, so good. I'll take it out and plant it in the Spring so it can live a nice long life on its own....We are such lucky people Pye............take care.

Oh yes, I very much do remember you telling me about your potted pine tree and I'm so happy to hear yours is still thriving. Maybe next year I'll get my own potted tree though wouldn't have a clue where to plant it afterwards as I live in an apartment..LOL

I don't get holiday miracles....but sometimes just something that happens sort of makes a great day for me. A while back my best friend sent me some pictures and he included the one that has been my favorite for a long time and he sent an audio of himself and his sons doing one of their favorite songs and then sent me his favorite guitar pick to go with it...it was a very special package....lol.
I am glad you got a tree for Christmas it makes a difference sometimes in how you handle the holiday.
