What will you do with a vagabond dog?

When I see a vagabond dog, and it seems to be friendly, I invite it over to me. I'll pet it and talk to it and suggest that it needs to find its way home, wherever that may be. If it follows me home, I might set some water out for it so that it could get something in its stomach, but I won't feed it. We live in a rural area, so I'm pretty sure a dog can hunt for something if it's hungry enough - otherwise, it'll find its way home. If the dog has been abandoned, I'd probably call the local Humane Society. They've managed to find homes for animals for the past few years without having to have any put to sleep.
