Am I the only one? Since the salary cap my favorite players are moving to different teams and I round up still liking the player but I hate the team he plays for. Example, I like Manny Legace. He was a Red Wing and I really got to see and like him but now he is playing for the Blues. I hate The Blues. Is this happening to you too?

I don't watch too much hockey. It is not a real popular sport down here in Fl. For some reason we just don't get enough ice to make it worth while. Thats a joke. Actually we do have a year round Ice Rink now about 10 miles from me and I have been ice skateing serveral times. The Jewish Federation rents it every once in awhile for all the kids and the adults can play too. I used to be pretty good. Now I am just happy if I go around a few times and don't make a fool of myself.
I can't say I know a thing about your team there Sarah, but I just couldn't leave you with a zero here. Now maybe someone will see it again and respond with something intelligent!

Thanks for responding. Is there a sport that you like? If so, think how you would think if the beloved star of your team suddenly went to play for another team that you hate. Wouldn't you still like the player?I do.By the way you have a pretty good pro hockey team , the Florida Panthers.

I knew that, I did. I remember my kid telling me that. I know nothing else about them.
When I watch sports, I walk down the block and watch the little league kids play ball and I can get all wrapped up in it. Or I will walk across the street and watch the kids in a pick up game of basketball. I used to join in. I cannot any more, but they all know me and show off and listen to me when I tell them how to do a better layup because they know I know better than they. Enough of them have seen me dunk it to know that this old lady was damn good!
I won't watch sports on TV though. I don't know why. Shoot I don't watch any TV so why watch sports. I do bet the Skins though. Either for or against depending on what kind of a year they are having. I've done that for 35 years give or take. I have to admit I've made some bucks off of them over the years. Mostly in their bad years.lol See you in the funny papers!
Shalom

I know what your saying, but... The reality of Proffesional sports is that this happens all the time. I highly doubt Legace would have been in Det still even without the cap. Legace is a solid Goalie but he never had a good run in the playoffs he was on his way out. Now I do think the cap has lot to do with the tandem of Ozzie and Hasek. both brought in very cheaply instead of getting a solide 4 mil a year goalie they got 2 experienced and rotate them. Really wish they would have pulled Bryzgalov off wavers earlier... imagine dump Hasek and Osgood for one goalie of that capable. sorry running off on my tangent on him.

I like that I get to see Oz and Hasek a little bit longer.

It's the same with all sports
Between lack of team loyalty, the money talking louder.
Salary Cap making teams try to work deals that fit the pocket more then the team.
In baseball the Phillies lost Aaron Rowan because they couldn't afford him so he is gone. The fans loved him. There are guys you hate that come to your team and guys you love who get shuffled off to other teams. Happened before the cap too and been a while since guys would spend their whole career on a single team.

So true. There will never be another Cal Ripken or Tony Gwynn. At the beginning of each season you have to relearn who is on your team.So far it has only happened once that a player I hate came to play for my team. It was Bertuzzi and he "played" for my Red Wings for a time.He wasn't the same guy. It was like he couldn't play dirty so he couldn't play at all.I was so glad to see him go.
