okay so there is this movie...and i don't remember anything about it!!

I hate when this happens...i know there is something and I don't remember anything about it except a little snippet that's not enough to try and look it up on yahoo... anyways, there is this movie about two guys I think...one is sort of a teacher/father figure to the other guy...they are business partners maybe? The reason I am trying to remember this is there is a quote that goes something along the lines of "you are who you are and i am who i am and that's just the natural order/occurence of things"??? I think there is more to it. I have no idea what the movie is called or who the actors are or even what the plot really is... but if you know what i'm talking about, let me know! and if you don't know, that's okay, too since I obviously can't remember either!!
