Who here works outside the home?

I should have been in the shower 8 minutes ago, but oh well.
I'll make it to work on time still.
My question is this:
Are you working offline and if so, what is your job?
I have two offline jobs now.
I serve at Cracker Barrel on Sundays (finally got down to only one night a week HOORAY!) and for a cell phone company during the week...easiest job I've ever had!!
I still work online and am mainstreaming my online work down to 4 sites. I've decided the other 3 are not bringing in enough to be worthy of the time and advertising that they take away from the four good ones.
So, I'm interested in knowing what you do for a living offline or what you do online, for that matter.
I'll be on either late tonight or sometime tomorrow to reciprocate responses.
Ciao4now,
Shannon

I am a cake decorator. I've been doing that for about 25 years. My main job is wedding cakes, but I also do decorated cookies for the shop I work in.

Now that's a skill I can highly respect. You'd understand that if you ever saw what my cakes look like after trying to decorate them, lol. Needless to say, I've ordered the hub's cake this year (wink-nod).

After you are there for awhile, you no longer have any interest in the product. I never eat cake and decided about 7 months ago to quit eating the cookies! LOL. Those were my temptation.

Now that I've finally been able to make it back, I'd like to second that. You must be pretty brave to even take on that job. Thanks for taking time to share that with us.

I take care of a few kids in my home. I don't work outside the home though. My husband does heating and air so he brings in most of our money so that I'm able to stay at home with our son. I just don't want to send my son to a daycare so it's nice to be able to stay at home plus make a little extra money watching a few kids.

I used to babysit. Can't say that my nerves could handle that now, lol. Fond memories tho. I remember what it was like before my hubs got permanently injured at work....those were the days. We had a houseful of kids and decent money coming in all on one paycheck. Now those kids are all grown but one, and he's close to grown. You are lucky to get to watch your son grow up instead of having to hear about all his "firsts" from the sitter.
Great to meet you.
Thanks for popping in to share your story.

Yes I work offline and last year I actually took a job that paid alot less to be closer to my family. My second job is raising two teens during the week and two preteens during the weekend. Out of the two teens neither of them act more mature than the 7/9 yr olds. I work in the industrial/vehicle manufacturing. I only come here for the chance to spill my gutts to other adutls not so much for the money...lol.

No wonder I never see you anymore!
I remember those days that you speak of (except the industrial/vehicle manufacturing part). All ours are grown now but one, and for a 16 year old, he's a pretty good kid. He's the most mellow one so far, thank God!!!
I hear ya on the money, tho. MyLot sure ain't the place for that anymore...at least not for me, but I sure am banking fat at the red place. ;)
Feel free to stop by and spill your guts anytime!

Me? I'm a slave for the automotive repair industry. Until a little more than 6 months ago, I had a 6 day, 58 hour work week. But as of 3 months ago, I not only have a 5 day/40/hr week, but weekends off to boot! No more split days off, no more ridiculous, long shifts. And I make slightly better money though not enough, given all the Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Lexuses that I troubleshoot and repair. But at least I can relax on the same schedule that my friends have now. Makes up for some of that lack of pay. :)

I should have known!
Nearly every guy I ever dated was a mechanic...never one for the pricey cars tho, always classics & customizing types. At least you're working normal hours now...I'm still waiting for a bite of those curly fries...

I work in a hotel ( probably owned by some rich git who plays golf every other day) And in this fabulously underpaid job I count the dirty laundry, seperate it into cages and rotate the clean laundry that comes from the dry cleaners ready for the house maids to make the beds and clean the rooms, occasionally I make beds when others can't be arsed, put shower curtains up and generally stress out when the laundry company effs it up....
On a lighter note, things online are getting better, I have at least a focus or a light at the end of the tunnel as far as earning online goes, still plodding on with it every chance I get!
Eventually if I can get to grips with this affiliate management software I should have my own first product out soon and an affiliate program to go with it, and also a membership site for it all to settle into, not to mention my blog empire and other earning ventures...the buzz words for this year is recurring residual income.

I work offline. I would have loved working from home, but the opportunities in india are not very conducive for that or maybe I am unaware of them. Whatever, I have a 10 to 6 job five days a week. Its pretty hassle-free, mainly secretarial type and my employers are quite considerate in the fact that i am never expected to stay back after 6 unnecesarily. so usually i am back home by 6:30 (yes the office is pretty close to my home) and since the weekends are off too, i am not complaining. online i am only at mylot and that too mainly coz of the bonding that i have developed with diverse people from around the world and not for the pay. that is like the icing on the cake

I really like my job at the office.
It's really not a hard job at all, there's a LOT to remember, but it isn't hard work. I normally get off at 5 and am home by 5:30 if I don't have errands to run on the way home. Basically all I do all day long is enter cell phone orders for Verizon and make sure the dealers get their commissions. I don't work for Verizon directly, but the cell phone company I work for uses their price plans for our dealers to sell with the phones. I'll just be glad when I can stop putting my check into the house repairs and start putting some online so I can upgrade my sites a bit. I would have weekends off too if it weren't for the second job.
I haven't made a payout here for months...can't seem to get my referrals to be active and can't seem to get any more of them. I've been here since November 2006, and used to bank nicely here. I only still come here for my friends that don't go anywhere else. It's like that old show, "Cheers." Sometimes ya wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad ya came...
Nice meeting you.
Thanks for stopping in.

I don't work. I should get a job since this semester is a rather easy one, or at least I hope it will be a rather easy one. I definitely plan on getting a job this summer though, if I can, once again, find a place that is hiring that I'm sure will consider hiring me.

I work a full time job in pharmacy sometimes putting in 12-14 hour days...but that is offset by my wonderful boss that lets me have a 3 day weekend every week...!!!I've done this for 25 + years ...and Love it...love my patients and fellow employees...outside of that I am a volunteer for many charity organizations..and have been a parks commissioner for my city for about 12 years until lately...I have run a crisis line for the domestic abuse women's network and worked 24 hour shifts as the contact person for those in lifethreatening situations...I am a wife, mother and now grandmother...I also walk at least 5 miles a day on my treadmill or outside...I am a manager for a friend of mine that is a public speaker and I book her engagements...I stay pretty busy...but not like it was a few years ago...since my husband's liver transplant I really cut back on my extra's to make sure he would have everything he needed...He is very well now and we live a pretty good life...I have only made about 25.oo on any website...I do it more for the personal interactions...love the folks here ar myLot...

More power to ya, chicka!
Sounds like you have had your act together for some time.
My life started out that way then it became a soap opera, which is why I'm starting over in my 30's.
I applaud your many talents, but can't figure out how you have the time for the extras after 12-14 hour days. My goodness, woman, when do you sleep???? I'm lucky to squeeze in 30 crunches a day, much less a 5 mile hike, lol. Congrats on becoming a grandmother, too, btw.
Also, there is money online, but in order to make it one needs a lot of time or a lot of money to get established. I got established then rules changed, sites had to be renovated, all at the time I'm back to college, so those are on the back burner for now. I worked at home successfully for 3 years tho, and to me that is an accomplishment that for 3 years of my life I was not a slave to "the man."
Here's some more applause, I gotta run for now. (insert cheeser smiley here)

I do. I work as a vet nurse 5 days a week. The hours are a bit ridiculous-it is not uncommon for me to work 11-12 hours some days. But I love my work so it doesn't bother me too much. Mylot is the only online money I make. I tend to use mylot more as a hobby though. I barely make 10c a day here! After I come home from a big day at work and cook dinner, sometimes I can only stay online for half an hour or so before i get too tired and have to go to bed!

Sounds like fun work. Personally, I love animals, but am way too squeamish for that...on behalf of people like me, Thank You for taking care of our pets!!!
Heck, your 10c a day is banking fat compared to my income here. I haven't had a payout in 5-6 months and really don't care. This is more of a fun-site than a banking-fat-site, lol.
Very cool avatar, btw.

I work outside of the home but only for three hours during the week. I work with a after school program in the grade school. It is a nice job and I enjoy it. I have a few online things here to make a little bit of money but can's seem to find something that does any good. But I keep trying and maybe one of these days I will hook on to something good.

Hi Shannon,
Online I do very little to make money any more, I dont think I've ever made enough online to make it worth my time. Off line I have a very full time job. I work as a Production supervisor in a foam plant. We make foam and cut to size for mattress companies. I put in somewhere between 50 to 60 hours a week. So I keep pretty busy with my job.
Take care, Terry

As of 8 months ago I was purely 100% Stay at home mom. Well things were getting really tight for us before the economy took a dump. So I got a part time job I usually work 4-15hrs a week, more like 4-8 since it is the slow season. I wish I could work more but we can't afford daycare so I can only work the hours oppsite of hubby's. Sux, cause I don't make didly squat working retail as a clerk but most places that pay decently are 9-5 & mon-Fri and I can't work those w/o child care... *sigh*
Online I do a few CTP & of coure MyLot but it would be nice if I could make $100+ a week doing something online but I doubt that'll happen unless I stumble across something grand or become the next Bill Gates.

If you're good at getting referrals, you could probably build that much income in a few months...of course most of the payouts would be monthly, but it would average out. Are your hubby's hours set? If so, you might be able to pick up another part time job for a few more hours a week. Waitressing could be really helpful for having handy cash a couple days a week. I hope you find something soon.

His hours are and are not set. THey have a rotating schedule every 3 months soooo I'm just happy they were willing to work around my availability, too bad about the pay.
I've never been a waitress and restaurants have taken big hits around here so I doubt anyone is hiring or willing to train to say the least. I just have to keep my eyes open. Or if anything perhaps go back to school in the meantime til my son is old enough for school.

I need to pick up at least a part-time job soon. I'm thinking that if I combine a p/t job with my online pursuits, I may be able to manage. Only time will tell.
