a shy person is someone who is hesitant to interact with other people because it's not easy for him/her to start a conversation. but a snob chooses not to converse with other people.

I was very shy when I was a teenager and a girl I worked with didn't like me because as she told me later she thought I, in her words she said she thought I was up myself, we became friends later infact I ended up being her bridesmaide, she didn't really like me at all, she didn't know that I was shy until she got to know me better, so i guess people only see the exterior and don't really look deeper.

I think there is a major difference between being shy and being snobby. A shy person genuinely does not know how to fit in, or has no desire to be near people because they enjoy being alone. They may also have extremely low self esteem. A snob, on the other hand, knows full well how to fit in, but that type of person thinks that she or he is truly better than everyone else, and does not want to lower her or himself to associated with people whom she/he thinks are lower than they are.

There is a big difference! Being shy just means your not confident enough, or you're just shy! Being snobby means your putting yourself above others. Thinking that you are better than them in many ways. Snobby persons think that they don't need anybody to go through wiht life. When in fact, they do!

There is a great difference. Being shy doesn't mean a snob. But to snob someone is a bad attitude that turns us from people. Don't be a snub! with a "smile"
