I'm curious - how many myLotters, besides me, live in or near Stillwater, Oklahoma? I grew up in Oklahoma City, but went to Oklahoma State University and have been lucky enough to stay and become a member of the community here. Eskimo Joe's and Hideaway Pizza are two of my favorite local restaurants. How about you? Do you live here? Have you been here? Both Presidents Bush have been here and claimed to have eaten at Eskimo Joe's (neither did, but it made them feel "cool" to say they did to the university students).

I know some people from Stillwater, and I have been there a few times. Hideaway is also in Tulsa, as well. I am in Muskogee, not too too far.

I've been to and through Muskogee many times. I work in Tulsa. Have you been to the Muskogee Castle? I've wanted to go there, but I just can't seem to time things right.

It took awhile to get the time to get there. Went to it when it was the "haunted Castle". Was pretty interesting, nice little plot they have there.

Well, Oklahoma is in the middle of nowhere. And Stillwater is north and a little east of the middle of the state, which puts us north northeast of the middle of the middle of nowhere. The tallest building in town was 14 stories (a dormitory), which was torn down a few years ago. Now the tallest building is 12 stories (another dorm). I think that the entire population of the state could fit in a couple of clown cars, LOL. Seriously, though, the wind does come sweeping down the Plains. And the waving wheat really does smell sweet when the wind comes after a rain. And I regularly see hawks (and sometimes eagles) making lazy circles in the sky.

I've driven through many places in Oklahoma, but not sure what all the town names were. I did an article on the state not too, too long ago listing the celebrities that were born there. Perhaps it would interest you, though i did not list every single one ever, just some of the more notable: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/906879/celebrities_born_in_oklahoma.html?cat=49

That was a cool article. I had no idea some of those folks were born in Oklahoma. I went to grade school with Vince Gill, though. He was a grade ahead of me, but we played on the same little league baseball team.

Well, I'm not from Oklahoma and I don't live in Stillwater (most of the time anyway) However, I do have a friend who was born in Drumright and now lives in Stillwater and I have been over there quite a few times to visit, so I feel as though I do live in Stillwater I'm so familiar with it. And unlike the presidents Bush, I have been to Eskimo Joe's (been there done that, got the T-shirt - An Eskmo Joe T-shirt of course). I'll be back there at the end of June - just in time for the tornado season...
