So I have maybe a dozen different flashlifgts throughout my house inclusijng in my car as well as in the garage. These are for doing work in areas where there is not enough light. And especially for power failures when they occur. I have 2 that are recharageable as well. This shot here shows the ones just upstairs. My wife & I, and my father each have one in the bedroom. I also have one in the basement. One in the car and one in the garage. These operate on AAA, C, D, and a dry cell battery. So how many flashlights do you have around the house? Are any rechargeable ones at all? Any run on a large dry cell battery? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

If my hubby would leave them alone or put them back where he found them I'd have them in all the right places too. So that said, I don't have a clue to how many we have now. I did have one in each of our cars, one in the kitchen, several were in his shed, and one in each bathroom but they're all gone now and God only knows where they are. LOL

You're no doubt correct in that assumption however he does have a tendancy to leave it where he used it last so who knows, maybe our two german shepherds used them too? LOL Ohhhh ok about the pm. As long as you acknowledged it, it's all well and good. How you handle it, is YOUR business. :)

We do have flashlights here GrandPa, but not that much like what you have!;) The flashlights we have are all battery-powered, one that operates with a "D" battery. We also have a lighter that comes along with a "built-in" penlight in it, that's what I love using when lights turns out at night!;)

Do you have any that are rechargeable? The big yellow one shown here gets plugged in to maintain the charge. It runs on a large dry cell battery. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We used to, but we decided to use flashlights more. We only use those rechargeable ones if brownout's would take a day long or more, we have to save the power so we can use them in a much needed situation.

I don't even know where one flashlight is in our house. I usually use candles if our power goes out. It doesn't really go out that often. I know my husband does have a few flashlights but I think he keeps them in his work van. I don't even know if we have one in the house.

But what if you wish to walk all over the house etc? carrying a candle could be a hazard in the dark it seems. I like my flashlights. I do use candles but only when the power is out for a longer time and just for light in a specific area. I'll use the flashlight going from room to room to see. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We must have at least 6 torches (flashlights) in our house. My husband loves them & he has some of those fancy ones. I also keep candles in the cupboard for power failures. We keep a supply of batteries too. One of our torches is the kind that can be charged by winding a handle on it.

I think we have about three, one in the kitchen and two in my sons room. They were in our room but somehow they always end up in his room. All battery operated!

We live in a small apartment so we don't really need a lot of flashlights... we have one that operate on 2 C battery...my husband just brought one from China that doesn't need any battery at all... i don't know how it gets the power for the light but it is quite amazing... i asked him to bring more next time so that we can give them as gifts to our friends and relatives... aside for these two... we have plenty of candles around..

The one that doesn't use batteries ois more than likely the type you shake to make it work? If so this works on a magnet. It rubs against the poles creating a charge for the bulb to light. I burn candles each day as well. I will also use the candles for light in a power outage as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We only have one flashlight at home Grandpa Bob and i am not sure that its working since i cant remember ever using it. HOwever, we have a rechargeable lamp that we very rarely use since its very rare for us to have brownouts and all the areas in our house are well lighted.

I have a shaker-type flashlight in my glove box and 2 in the drawer right when you come into the kitchen. I also have a 9-volt square battery-operated flashlight along with a headlamp that my daughter found in the utility room. My daughter also has her small flashlight that I bought for when she goes to girl scout camp every summer in her bedroom. If/when the power goes out, I know the layout of my house so I can get to the flashlights pretty quick if I have to. I also have a candle hurricane lamp that is surprisingly bright along with a backpacker lantern and a full fuel bottle for it under the kitchen sink that is ready to light.

We have loads - if only we could find where Niamh has planked them all! lol I afraid she is rather obsessed with torches (flashlights) and whenever we try and put one somewhere where it would be handy in case of a powercut it miraculousy disappears and she hasn't touched it - really! So what do you think AGB is she eating the batteries or what? xxx

Oh my when I saw this topic, I couldn't resist taking a peek! My husband works diligently to keep the flashlights in working order that he has in all his hidey-holes around here. One in each car, one in each nightstand, one by the fridge and on and on. We no longer have a dry cell one due to a kid around here doing somethng to it. Could never find a convenient plus for more than one rechargeable. My hubby will be so pleased someone else is so well prepared.

Better prepared than not. It is a very clever idea of yours to have so many flishlights throughout the house in case it is needed for you to use. I also have some flashlights and I am happy that my nokia cell phone is equipped with a flashlight as well. I always use it when I am walking downstairs in the dark. Happy responding to Grandpa Bob's discussion.

I have so many because all but one were frweebies from the web, friends, or promos at stores etc. I also like having them scattered in the house so that say if I am in the basement and the power goes out I have the light near by. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

i guess i only have at most two flashlights in the house. i do have a small key chain that has a strong light. i think there is a special name for it and it was very popular at one stage. but i can't remember the name. i also have this tiny light that is in this card tht is credit card sized. it's very handy and i put it by my bedside. no rechargeable ones and none that run on a dry cell battery!

I have 5 flashlights in our house two of which are rechargeable. The rest are powered by dry cell batteries. It is very useful here in our area since the power supply from the electric company is not so stable. And oh I have one small flash light that I carry in my bag all the time. It has no batteries, and its also mad in china. You don't have to shake it to have power but it has a small lever that you can hold and rotate to energize the power once the light gets dim. It also has connections with different adapters for cellular phone. Its really nice since you can also charge the cellphone once connected and you can have at least 5 mins of talk time with a minute of continues rotating.
