How one little baby made lots of people smile...

I remember when my son was born and they were taking us from our room to go home...everybody who saw us smiled and went "aw! a baby!" and it continued for months everywhere we went people would smile when they saw the baby... With my daughter though, it seems like she REALLY gets people's attention. I cannot go grocery shopping without being stopped at least 10 times. The other day these sweet little old ladies must have talked to us for 10 minutes...they kept telling me how seeing me and the baby really made their day!! I don't really like all the attention (I'm a get in, get the heck out kind of shopper), but the baby doesn't mind at all, she smiles and "talks" to them...and I love how much it brightens everyone's day! Do you remember this with your kids? It amazes me how babies are completely unaware of the world (as we know it at least) and yet they can make such a big difference and impact on people without doing anything but smiling at them!

Brings back memories that's for sure. I raised my daughter in the 70's, money was short times hard and I raised her as a single parent. I always worked hard but never made a huge wage. We got by however and I'll never forget the time I bought my daughter a few pairs of new panties. She wasn't very old and anyone will tell you she has always been a very pretty girl. Well these panties were pretty fancy and made of a soft silk. I always dressed my daughter in little dresses and the first day out shopping with these new panties, she kept lifting up her dress and telling everyone, "Look new Panties, Look new panties, my mommy buyed me new panties." There was no shutting her up either she was pretty proud of these lacy panties and all I wanted to do was crawl in a hole someplace. It's all good now, and I guess I did something right because she did learn to keep them on. LOL. Take Care my friend.

A baby's smile is really cute. It is because a child is so full of innocence. A baby's smile can subconsciously trigger the good old days...the childhood days.

well im wondering myself also on babies..but i guess its the innocence they project especially when they smile sweetly or whatever... that makes us lighten our day and have a good mood on that instant...

Oh yes I remember it with my kids and now I am reminded with my grandchildren. Babies are so blistfully unaware of the importance their role is in this world! A baby breathes life and hope into the depressed and the lonely! They remeind the old folks of how precious life and how sweet it is to hold a new born baby. I have been shopping many times with my daughters when their babies were born and the familiar glances, awes and comments were the same of yesteryear and oh how it warmed my heart to see this amazing miricle that happens when a new born baby is near!

Hi, Babies are another gift of God, they are more close to God and innocence in them are more projected when we feel more positive to them.

It truly is an amazing experience and our children are like sponges. Human nature is a wonderful thing!

That's how my little guy is too. He smile and waves at everybody. His current thing is to give everybody high fives! He is such a flirt. I love babies and a simple smile can warm my heart.

it was like that with all my kids. it really brightened up my grandmas day when me and my oldest daughter that was a baby at the time would go over and visit. but she was taken when my oldest daughter was 18 months. i wish she had still been here when both my son and baby daughter were born but i know shes up in heaven looking down on them and still smiling away. People have been stopping me and my baby daughter alot lately. she just got her ears pierced and they look ohhhh soooooo cute. people keeps saying what a cute little baby and when they see her ears they say oh my so cute such little itty bitty earrings

Have to agree with you on the whole baby making people smile thing. I have a 4 month old boy and he makes me smile just looking at him. It doesn't bother me for people to stop and look then comment that he is beautiful. You also have to sit back and think though, these people may have something going on in their life and needed that little smile from such a small child. I am the same kind of shopper, make my list, shop and get out. I think it's because I'm not really a people person. I remember these times with all my other children as well. They are great times that will be treasured in my heart and memory. There's nothing like a small child's small that will melt your heart more.
