Is Valentine's Day observed anywhere else besides the Unites States? In any case, what has been the best Valentine's present you have received or given? Perhaps it was just a nice gesture. And do you know how this tradition started? Who was Valentine and what did he do? By the way, send all happy Valentine comments to Gtargirl's MyLot message box--she has no Valentine of her own, boo hoo. lol.

Maybe someone else will send you flowers this year, Lakota. I sure hope so. Thanks for the link to info about St. Valentine. Very interesting. I don't think I've actually heard that little bit of history. I guess there are a few different stories about the man but all say he was honorable and loved.

I am in the states but I LOVE Vday, now my hubby tries to get away with NOT celebrating. Normally he does too because he's always shipped away somewhere, but this year we are out of the military so no excuses. lol. I'm waiting for my nice gift, however I have received before. He sent me a message in the bottle two years ago with a letter in is. I loved it as he is not an emotional person. This year, we live a few miles from Russell's chocolate store so I better at LEAST get a nice box of chocolate. lol.

A message in a bottle? Wow, how romantic is that. Maybe he'll out-do himself this year. I will so agree with you that yo should at least get a pound of Russell's chocolate. Of course, that might be a little too sweet (in the sense that it would be way too much candy). In any case I hope you have a wonderful V Day.

Awww, sadness. Oh come on, someone with a name like sweetcakes must have a better Valentine's story than that. Sigh. I do know what you mean though. Hope you have a good one this year.

The nicest gift I ever received were diamond earrings from my husband. He usually brings candy too but am really not suppose to eat it. He brings a box and it can be gone by morning. My dentist loves it..lol

I don't know why, but I just love to celebrate Valentine's day. But sometime I spend too much on gift for my boyfriend lol The best gift I ever received was ... well it was more the gesture then the gift that made me happy. It was our first Valentine's day. Like every morning before going to work, my boyfriend kissed me. When I woke up later, there was roses just beside me. I wanted to cry. When he came to kiss me, he bought he lunch box with him to be sure I didnt heard the noise of paper around the flower :)

It seems that we are always happier with sweet gestures than the actual presents. Of course, flowers and chocolates are also a nice gesture.

Yes Valentine's is celebrated in our country but not all does that, only the romantics! The best gift I have ever received is him! Oh my gosh how am I going to say it? It was valentine's day and I did not have a date and so was he, we were classmates in college and all of our friends were coupled up! He came up to me and said, can you be my valentine? Oh poor me, I said a bif YES! And that was the beggining of us. Five years down the line, we are still strong with a wedding coming up in march. The history of valentine's day is abit complicated to me, so I don't know it well but am happy that the day exists. Happy valentines to you.

That's such a sweet story. I guess you never know what could happen when romance was meant to be. I hope you have a wonderfully romantic Valentine's Day and many blessings on your upcoming wedding.
