Belated Birthday Presents!

Wow, I am so happy and surprised at the same time. For the past few days, I have been catching up with different friends as I was away for a few months. It really surprises me that they all bought me something for my birthday (which is in mid-Jan). To be frank, I didn't really think about presents and birthday as I just wished to see they were all doing. So it has really been a nicely surprising few days. Do you give presents to your friends? And what's your most "remembered" birthday present you have ever received?

Yes, I give presents to friends, mostly we have been doing it lately for people who turn 50 years old. My 16th birthday meant a lot to me because I had a lot of friends over and my parents really went all out. I don't remember birthday presents that much since my birthday is Feb. 1st, so I tended to get a lot of clothes, really warm winter clothes. My husband usually takes me out to eat at Ponderosa's which has a Buffet and it's really nice to just eat and eat. Take care

Belated, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Wonder Ice Queen, Happy Birthday to you! How old are you now? You'll need to change your profile now, one year older after all. Take care

*laughs* I am 29 now! I love buffet too, I hate reading menu and guessing their outlook and taste, buffet is really easy, I just go in and grab everything! So your birthday is close too! Yay!

Yes, but too many buffets make for a round writer's edge! Trying to get my family to only go to them for celebrations, this year, that's not too hard, we don't have much $. Yes, isn't it amazing how many people are born around this time of year? Maybe it's just because I tend to attract other Aquariuses as well as Capricorns and Pisces. There are entire parts of the zodiac (year) that I haven't had any friends from. Take care and glad you had a wonderful birthday.

Hello wondericequeen, You are very lucky that those friends of yours remember your birthday and keep the gifts till you come back *smiles* I have a friend who prepared a gift for my birthday and asked me to go to her house to get it as she was busy that time. Since I am busy too, it has been two years from the day she told me about it*sighs* I don't think she still have the gift with her anymore *laughs*

*laughs* That's ridiculous! She could mail it to you or something! I really don't know if the gift is there but somehow I thought it would be!

Hello wondericequeen, I think she was too busy with her job that she couldn't find time to look for parking to send the parcel to me *laughs* You know how terrible the traffic here especially during lunch hours or weekdays *smiles* Sending it by courier, well..it costs too much for her gift, I guess. It is OK for me. I don't really hope for a gift. For her to wish me happy birthday is more than enough...as a friend *smiles*

i seldom give presents and i only give to those whom i think who would really treasure them. I do receive presents but i seldom like them unless it was given by a very close friend but just the same it is not the gift that counts , it is the thought.

hi wondericequeen! ^__^ you're so lucky to have generous friends who give gifts during your birthday. its not our tradition to give gifts every birthdays. only on important occasions like debut, graduation, or Christmas. i think the most memorable birthday present i ever received was a stuffed teddy bear given to me by my bestfriend and a poem written by my ex-boyfriend. ^__^

Really? Not a tradition to give gifts on birthdays? How sad? I love giving people gifts on their birthdays, the expressions on their faces are priceless!

One of the things I love doing is shopping for gifts for friends especially for Christmas! Sometimes, I give my friends little presents even if there's no occasion. I don't know but I find joy in doing so. My most remembered birthday present I have ever received is a tour abroad given by my parents. =)

This was a mistake, actually - I am saving the good ones to publish with an article about the process. It was going on a yellow background, but when I figured out what I was doing wrong, I stopped the machine as soon as it put one yellow line around the bird. That is why it looks a little funny, but you get the idea.
My best present was not a surprise because hubby and I usually shop together for each other's "presents" but it was last year when I got a Brother Innovis 2500D sewing machine. We've bought cars for 1/3 of what that sewing machine cost and I was apprehensive about whether I would get enough use out of it to make the purchase sensible, but I can say now it was a right decision. My overpriced computerized sewing machine rocks! Here is something I made with it, if you want to see. I drew the picture myself and then put it in our laptop computer and saved it to the memory card and then put the memory card in the sewing machine and this is what came out:

Wow that looks so cool! *laughs* I am sure you will make your overpriced machine worthwhile by making beautiful stuff! It's an art!
