Yes youles. It is a good habit to reply the email you receive in you in box. But many emails do not require replying. We automatically try to delete them from our in box so as to get the free space on our hard drive. in-replied email may cause the creation of confusion, which is not good.

If it's my close friends and family then I reply right away or within a day or two at least.

i agree in with your opinion dear youless. its not good to make our friend waiting any response from our side except we are incapable conditions. mostly i would like to reply my friends e-mail imnediatelly after i read their e-mail in my inbox. whay i do that caused i also do not like if i should wait longer response from each e-mail that i sent :)

I reply as soon as I get an e-mail. I don't like a mail lying in the imbox for long.
Even when I used to get regular mail, I would reply at once. My father would always tell me to wait a couple of days before replying...but I could never wait that long.

Yes I usually reply to my friends' emails right away or within a day or so. I don't like to keep my friends waiting and therefore, I usually respond right away. Otherwise I am afraid I would forget about their emails. Sometimes, I am in a hurry and I will respond the next day. I think it's a good habit too!

I like to get back to my friends as soon as possible. I have a phone that receives e-mails whenever they go to my e-mail account instantly. If I am in class but not busy, then I might reply to someone right there, or wait until I get out of class. I also have my laptop and continually check my e-mails through the day, so I will also get back at them when I am at my computer on the internet. If it's more than 48 hours and you didn't get a response, then usually I'm trying not to be found on purpose or away from anything to get to my e-mail cause I usually respond by then.

true..
it only takes a short while to write and reply back to my friends - i normally do it as immediately as i get their message...
no point waiting to reply, unless they ask me to check or reconfirm something before i write back to them.. which normally what happens with my 'business correspondences'..
even if i cant write a long reply.. i'd still email back with a very short reply - telling them that i'd be writing them a proper reply very soon...
