I sit downstairs in my computer room most of the day, when I am not doing housework. Everytime I want something I have to climb about 15 stairs to go upstairs. I was just wondering how many times a day I go up and down thoses stairs? Probably 100 times a day. This should help me lose weight. lol So how many times a day do you walk up the stairs? Not just at home but away from home. Do you take the elevator when you need to go upstairs when you are out? I almost always walk stairs instead of taking an elevator, even if it's 10 floors up. I think the exercise is good.

We only have sixteen stairs in our house, but I do go up and down quite a lot! I spend a lot of time in my bedroom which doubles as my office, for a break and to rest my eyes I go downstairs to collect a bottle of cold water out of the fridge so that's 32 steps, but isn't climbing stairs more exercise than going down stairs? Do you not use up more energy going upstairs rather than down? I hate elevators/lifts and avoid using them so I will always use the stairs instead. Ten floors is up is good but it don't half take it out on my knee joints! I also go downstairs to watch television to be sociable throughout the day. 100 times a day my friend? You should be fit as a fiddle LOL!

We have I think 12 steps leading from the computer room in the basement to the kitchen and bedrooms upstairs. I go up and down the stairs at least a dozen times a day. Probably a lot more than that. When I am out I usually end up going places that do not have elevators, so I walk up the steps.
