to pay for crown after crown and root canal, and have to consider getting that tooth pulled, having partials or false teeth put in? My latest quote, with dental insurance is still going to cost me thousands and thousands. You are talking to someone who has gone to the dentists faithfully all my life. Age, medications, whatever, eventually have caught up to me and these teeth will need to be handled. I've talked to a number of senior citizens who love their false teeth. They even sleep in them. And Oh, what a battle it will be at the dentist if I decide to get the teeth pulled.

I'm here in South Texas about 20 minutes from Mexico. I go across the border to get my dental work done. Last winter in Mexico the dentist charged me $20.00 for cleaning and buffing. THis year it only cost me $15.00 for the same work. I have had fillings for $25.00 and was quoted a price of $75.00 for a crown. Almost all border towns in Mexico have good dentists who will work very cheaply.

I just read an article in the Review Journal about this. I'm in Nevada and could make the trip given this incentive. I mean, we are talking thousands and thousands in savings! One person in the newspaper article said she goes down for a week, stays in a hotel with her family like a mini vacation and still saves tons of money getting the dental work donoe down there.

I got my teeth all pulled about five years ago at the age of 50. I'd also gone to the dentist faithfully all my life until I had my daughter and we didn't have dental insurance and money was tight. Then it seemed my teeth got worse by the day and I suffered many severe toothaches, several bad abscessed teeth and my dentist and I finally agreed getting them pulled and getting dentures would be the best way to go. I haven't regretted it for a second. I can eat what I want without getting a toothache, and that's something I couldn't say for about 20 years. It's obviously you decision alone to make but I wouldn't be afraid to get them pulled and get dentures. It will save you tons of money in the long run; I know it has for me. Annie

Thanks for the good review on the dentures. I'm seriously considering this. At least your dentist agreed to do it. So many dentists don't want to pull teeth.
