It is so much easier to cheat poor people as they are the desperate ones, that hope what you are selling or offering will make their life a bit better. The rich have no such need and can and do consider all that they will buy. This is a sad fact of life, the bad preying on the poor

Money isn't everything. The rich may have money, but they might lack some other things in life. =)

I think that you've got the wrong approach. If you define someone by rich or poor, it doesn't neccessarily need to mean the same thing. Everyone has needs, NO ONE has everything they want in life. People either want more, more, more, or to get something back. If you have money, you could be called rich... But what if you had money, and no wife cause you have low self esteem, or think of yourself as ugly, or I don't know what else. Then this ¨rich¨ person could be easily seducted by a gorgeous gold-digger. Generally a 100 poor people (talking about money) could have more experience, and be alert to scams, because there is a high probability that they've gone thorough something similar. The thing is, rich people tend to think that they are on the top of the world, and that's their prime and biggest vulnerability. It also depends on their own life experience. Maybe they were poor, and then got rich, and maybe they're rich spoiled brats. Maybe they earned it all by themselves, maybe they didn't ever have to work at all. The point is... There are no rules, it all depends on the persons character, and the power of persuasion of the one trying to cheat that person. =) I hope this was a constructive enough answer. =)))

I would think it would generally easier to cheak the poor people. Unfortunately they are usually the ones with the least education and as such abilities. The uninformed are the ones who get cheated first. Those who have advantages and knowledge are not as likely to be fooled. That being said even the so call middle class can be cheated. Just look at how many times we are cheated by scam artists who send offers in the mail or over the internet. That is not to say a rich person can not be cheated. We hear all the time about high profile people with money who get cheated by others. But on the whole the poor people get hit more often.
