We had a very bad morning this morning..We got a phone call, one of those bad calls...It seems that my sister in law gets up this morning and walks into her den and he husband was on the floor dead..What a horrile shock. He was an excuitive in the Ford motor company, he had recently retied but found he was bored so he would go in the office 3 days a week..He and his wife were looking forward to his retirement, and was planning to travel..He was only 60 years old and my sister in law is 57, they just had their first grandbaby...We do not know what happened, they were in bed and i supposs he got up and left his wife sleeping, and when she awoke she went in the fix their coffee, figuring that he was up and then she found him..he was so heathly and both of them were so active, he was slim and did not smoke, and i cannot imagine..It was only a little while back that we went to lunch with them he was fine and they were planning a trip to Italy...All we knpw so far is that both him and his wife had been battleing a bacteria infection...We are just waiting now to see what we need to do...When something hots this close to home and comes as a total surprise it really makes you think that life is just like a vapor and can end any time...As i write this we are all in shock!

oh what a horrible reality to wake up to! I can only imagine the shock to your poor sister in law... I wonder if it was an aneurism, since it was such a surprise. you are right about the fleetingness of this life, how in an instant it is extinguished like the blowing out of a candle.

We are not sure yet, my sister in law is having an autopsy to see what happened it will be a few days before we find out...He was such a healthy person, we are just so shocked....life is so fragile, and when something like this happens it just reminds you of how life is..

I think what is hard for me is that I always think 'it can't happen to me'. Over the last 10 years I've lost several people that were a big part of my life - like you said, like a vapor. Their still in my heart and my mind but yet their gone. My condolences to you and your family.

This is the way I want to go but not at this age or this way that a family member has to find me. This has sent shivers down my spine I am also 57 and my husband is 60. My husband has had quadrupple bypass surgery 2 years ago so it does give you something to think about. This is very sad for them considering they didn't even know he was sick. It's for that reason I guess a person always thinks heart attack. I am so sorry for all of you. I'm sure they will be able to tell you what went wrong.
