Playdates

My 5 year old son was invited to a play date today and was so excited about it. I went to meet him at the bus stop to give him some snacks to take along with him. His friend catches the same bus as us but gets off at the second stop as opposed to the first one where we live. I wasn't sure whether I needed to give him snacks to take or anything for that matter but I did anyway. I made sure there was enough for both of them (i.e. fruits, juice and plain biscuits). Not I am sitting here bored and its very quiet. The tv is on but I am not watching it. What are you doing right now?

A play date? That is so cute. Was this something that they set up at school? Where are they going for the date? It must be to the park or something like that. When my oldest niece was about 6 or seven, I was babysitting my friends four boys while she went to work. One day, I only had the six year old. I went to pick up my niece who was living down the street. I don't remember the name of the hamburger stand, but I had them pretending like they were on a date. It was the cutest thing.

His friends mom emailed me last week asking if Madison can go over to their place to play with her son since her son has been bugging her for ages. Maddy has also been bugging me to invite them over but I have not had time to organise anything. As soon as he got home this evening, we got another call from his "gal" friends mother asking if he can over to their place tommorrow, so its another play date for him which he is so excited about. I am so happy that he has made a few friends at school considering he had none before he started Kindergarten.

You sure know how to take care of your child, I hope he enjoys his time out!;) It seems that you're also having some time out of your own, don't feel bored but look for ways to enjoy it. I do many things when am alone and quiet, like reading my favorite books or even look for something interesting for me on the net (like new computer games that I can buy). Try doing something else, like that of what always thought of doing -when alone. Like singing, grab a mic and belt out your way through your favorite songs!;) That's one good way of enjoying and passing our "quiet" time here, just nevermind them neighbors!LoL Well that's just an idea, so I hope that you do find

I should be enjoying my time out but for some reason I always miss my son haha, funny aye? I ended up cleaning the house and listening to some music at the same time after I posted the discussion. It was fun and time went by quickly and then we had to pick him up. He was not happy about that because he said the playdate was too short hahaha! he is going to another one tommorrow!

I'm just sitting here reading and responding on mylot because I'm bored too. My son just pushed one of our kitchen chairs over here and our computer so now he's sitting here watching me type and eating his sucker. I'm sure he won't sit here for long though before he's trying to type with me. LOL

I love when the little one has playdates and so does she! In fact she is going on one this weekend with the little girl she has been best friends with since she started nursery just over 3 1/2 years ago. Her friend moved a few miles away last year but has stayed at the same school but now her parents have decided it is time to move her to the school that is a 5 minute walk away instead of one that they have to drive all the way through town traffic to to drop her off and pick her up. She is so looking forward to the weekend - it is weird as she has friends over and goes to their houses regularly but she is doubly excited about this one. You are bored - you silly sausage - you should be relaxing , have a long bubble bath, read a book or whatever you fancy! Right now I am lying down with the laptop listen to my daughter coughing and hoping it eases off and she has a good sleep tonight as she hasn't for ages! lol xxx

Aww that is so cute having playdates. When we went to pick him up he said his playdate was too short and wanted to stay longer LOL he was there for two hours and still it wasn't enough. Lucky for him we got another phone call from one of his "gal" friends who wants him to come over for another playdate tommorrow, so he is excited about that. Apparently she had heard that he went to his other friends place today and wants him to come over to her place and bugged her mom when she got home from school today - too funny! I am glad that he has made some friends from school since he never had any before starting kindergarten. Its funny how I have time on my hands and still miss him when he is not here. I actually started to clean the house and put some music on when I finished posting this discussion. It was actually very nice. Hope your daughter feels better soon HUGS!

i think it's a great idea to give him some food to bring along. i think his friend's mom would definitely appreciate that you packed enough for both of them. i guess that's the dilemna of a parent. when kids are not there, suddenly it seems very quiet! i guess if you had a hobby like scrapbooking, now would be a good time to do it!

I wasn't sure whether I needed to or not and when I got there she said that i didn't need to but it was ok. I ended up cleaning the house and listening to music while cleaning, time flew by quickly that way!

I have a sense of humor. LOL No really, I have had to learn to laugh at the little stuff. It makes it so much easier. Not too mention, four of them are in school now, so it is quite a bit easier than it used to be! :O)

My girls have no school tomorrow so my husband took them and one friend each snowboarding. It's cheaper at night so they have gone for the evening. I am all on my own tonight. I'm not too thrilled that he is spending money we don't have but he considers this a once-a-year outing with the kids so I just have to accept it. And no, I can't go with them. With my fibromyalgia there is no way in heck you will find me out on any snow hill. And it is mild today, rather damp. I'm in quite a bit of pain. I'm best on my own tonight I guess.

Must be nice to have some quiet time. I'm here on the computer while my two oldest is doing homework and my baby is playing. The tv is out because its raining so hard here. At least the kids won't be distracted by the tv so maybe they can get their homework done at a reasonable time. Then maybe we'll break out rock band for the 360 and play it for a little while.

It is nice but I miss my son haha! I'm use to having him home with me at this time. He had a day off yesterday because of a teachers conference and we spent all day cutting, pasting and making fun things out of paper and now they are all hanging on our mantel piece.
