Dear Santa

Christmas is a time Of holiday cheer But tell me, dear Santa Why must I be here? Hell hath great fires Heaven hath much peace But down where I am Only joyous time ceased Take me, break me Trim me up on the tree Just as long as it's not here As long as I'm not me Hate this place Hate this holiday, too Tears threaten to form Depression shines through Forget all the happy People who don't hate their life Right now, my world sucks But no, there's no knife I love my friends, They make me so happy I love my boyfriend, too With him I'm far too sappy But my family, from hell I wish them away So Santa, please Santa Let me skip Christmas day My step-dad was being a right jerk over Christmas, so I wrote this as an escape. I like the holiday, as long as I'm nowhere near him. He ruins everything.

I've been writing poetry for about eight or nine years now, and I've been writing in general since learning how to (I used to write "books" in first grade and such). Also, thank you very much.

I would think about it, except I've only written 44 poems. How many does a book of poetry usually have? My friend published a book of her poetry, and she had almost twice as many. Do you really think it would sell?
