Do people respond more to pictures?

If you post a question do you get a better response with or without a profile picture? Are people concerned with what the questioner looks like? Does it make that person seem more "credible" somehow? Tell me what you think. I know it makes a difference in a social network like myspace or yuwie, but what about here?

I think using an avatar would be a useful thing for getting replies. Just like an amblem of the product makes it easier to keep it in mind. I will have one soon :D

my computer is down at the moment and I'm waiting for my man's brother to come fix it, but he's really busy (cuz fixing computers is his job) so I use my man's computer, but none of my pics are on it so I can't download one yet =(

I don't think, it will matter. So long as the discussion caught the interest of the reader, he/she will be motivated to reply. I have just put a photo on my avatar yesterday. so I have been for almost a month and a half, with no photo on my avatar, but I notice the number of responses I have on my discussions. There are times, it receives only. But there are also cases, my discussion receives more than 10 responses. so it has nothing to do with the avatar, but the post itself. :-)

I don't think it makes a difference to me, but you might keep in mind when people are looking at discussions if you have the same avatar as everyone else who hasn't posted their own personal avatar, then your discussions will look at a glance like they are written by the same person as the other discussions written by people who have no avatar. Happy posting!
