Why is "fear" misconcepted and a false reality?

Why do we fear? Has it become a false reality? Do we even know why we fear things in our lives? Have you ever thought why you fear and realize all that time you're just afraid of death? Here's why: - One will say, "I am afraid of heights!" - Reality is they are not afraid of the height itself. What they really fear is falling off like say from a balcony or cliff, dropping maybe hundreds of feet from the ground and then boom! What a mess! - One will say, "I am a afraid of the dark!" - Reality is they are not afraid of the dark, but have built a delusion that something will come in the dark like a demon, a spirit that will haunt them, attack them or actually kill them. Or also fearing walking in the dark alley when someone will come at you to might rob you, rape you or even murder you. - One will say "I am afraid of spiders/snakes" - Reality is you're not afraid of the actual spider or snake, but the fact you you're afraid of dying to be poisoned by the venom that can cause you to suffocate, caused a ill reaction if you don't get fast medical treatment. - One will say "I am afraid of swimming" - Reality is you're not afraid of swimming, but if you were going about maybe over 10 feet deep in the water or such the fear of dying from drowning not able to gasp air on time. You pretty much get the point where this is going. Anything that results in fear always is a fear of death. If any of you have a false reality fear feel free to add it in here.
