I try to use a new browser now

In the past I have only used Internet Explorer. Yesterday my friend was surprised I used it. He said Firefox is the best as your computer won't be attacked by browsing the websites. Now I try it and it is fine. Do you use another browser besides Internet Explorer?

I have always used Firefox. The only thing I can't use Firefox for is MSN games.

Firefox and IE are the two main ones and the two that I use. There is also Opera and Netscape Navigator (which will be phased out on 2/1/08). Others use browsers that are proprietary, like on a phone or such and I believe there is a browser for Linux though most everyone just uses Firefox.

I started to use Netscape Navigator in 1997. I haven't tried Opera before.

I have to admit it took me a loooong time to finally break down and get out of my comfort zone and try a different browser. I'd gotten very accustomed to using Netscape and IE in the place I used to work. When I got my first home computer, I stuck with both of them. A friend first told me about FF about a year ago. He kept saying it was the absolute best browser out there--very user friendly and a whole lot more secure than IE. But I was a holdout for the longest time and didn't finally go for the FF download till about five or six months ago. Now, I'm kicking myself for waiting so long to try FF in the first place. lol There are a very few websites I still use IE for, but mainly because FF does not support them yet. Otherwise, I don't think I'd ever use IE or anything else at all.

LOL! I'm sorry! FF is my silly shorthand I got used to using for Firefox when I'm talking about it with my friend who recommended it. I'm guessing you're not as bad off as I just made you feel! :-)

I have also tried firefox. I do not see hell and haeven difference. But the cPU usage is less in case of multiple site you open. it loads with the cpu usage it needs and then just go on.

Good morning, dear youless. I am very happy to have read your discussion about using a new browser now. Well, I used to try to use firefox for just a few days, but later I stopped using it as I am just used to using the Internet Explorer. Anyway I am glad that you are fond of the new browser right now. Take care.

I am used to use Internet Explorer, too. But when I heard that my computer will have a lower possibility to get attacked when I am surfing.

Yes of course. I don't like internet explorer much as it has a slow speed. I normally use opera 9 and mozzilla firefox. I think both of them is equally good. Besides that i also have Flock installed. It's good too. I personaly would not recommend Safari and Internet Explorer. No offence but i really seldo use IE.

That's great that you also use Opera. I know it's also a famous browser, but I haven't tried it yet.

I used to use netscape more often than explorer. I switched to firefox I think 2 years ago - it took a little while to get used to, but I now find it superior. my son told me that firefox is owned and developed by the former netscape.

I am quite surprised to hear that. When I started to use internet in 1997, I also tended to use Netscape. But later I use IE as it seems a little bit slow and the homepage design won't be nice if I use Netscape.

At one time, before I started beefing up host security, I migrated to Firefox for the sake of security. Then I started getting a lot of the same spyware I was getting through IE. This time, I switched to Opera, and the drive-by attacks came to a halt.

In say it's very bad to be ignorant about the use of these browsers. i had all the browsers appear on my screen asking me to make a choice. i chose IE and firefox as the second browser even now i can't find where to locate the browsers to select a different one. the IE isn't favourable for me at all. i had about seven browsers on that day. i didn't even know what i did and they appear for me to make that choice and i fooled. it's paining me now.

I'm using firefox. I started using it because of the tabbed browsing, as I didn't want to have so many IE windows cluttered on my taskbar. Although now IE7 has tabbed browsing, but I'm still sticking to firefox :)

Unfortunately some websites don't support other browsers, and we have to use IE sometimes.

Currently, I am using Opera, Mozilla, and IE. I used Opera browser more frequently. It is very fast and safe to use. I also used Mozilla because it provides useful add-ons or extensions. I used IE rarely because there are some sites that cannot be opened by Opera and Mozilla. For me, Opera is the best browser among others. It really satisfied me with its speed performance.:-)

I use both internet explorer and foxfire. I like explorer because I can enlarge some of the websites that I go to. some are too small to be able to read. So I use both for different reasons.

If you use IE, you don't have to worry about whether the website will support it or not. As all can support IE but some of them can't support Firefox.

I use to use IE. But recently I've just started using Firefox. Firefox seems to be much better. I'm still trying to figure out how to work somethings on their. I need to figure out how to print and how to upload photos. I've noticed that Firefox has spell check (I thought it was mylot). Also theres not popups on Firefox.

I think the spell check is from Firefox. As I post it in IE but there is not such a function.

I used IE before but when firefox comes out, I tried it and loved it very much. I have heard quite a few people saying that firefox is the best since it doesn't ruin your computer while browsing the internet and to be frank, I experience less problems with my computer after changing to firefox and also, I must say that it loads pages way faster than IE.

I can't tell the loading speed between IE and Firefox, but it seems Firefox is safer.

I use Opera as my main browser. Unfortunately there are pages that do not work right in Opera, so for those I am using Firefox first and if it is absolutely needed I use Internet Explorer. I have been using Opera for at least 6 or 7 years, and I like it best of all of the browsers.
