Useful green pepper trivia

Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating. Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking. Ya learn something new every day! I never noticed before.

well joyce, I had no clue about this tip! first I have heard of it. you can bet the next time I go to the grocery I am going to be checking out the peppers! even if I am not in the market to buy any at that moment! thanks for the tip I assume you are talking about bell peppers specifically?

Yes, and not just green bell peppers -- the yellow and red as well.

That's new to me too...good to know. I'm not a big fan of green peppers...I much prefer red or yellow but I'll have to look out for the "3 bump" green ones.

That's awesome! I will have to remember that when I am grocery shopping. Hard (four letters / four bumps). That seems easy enough to remember! My guinea pigs love green peppers and they aren't the least bit picky about what type I buy. Thanks for the tip!
