So, I need to lose 10 pounds. I read the magazines, I go online, I search. You always find those 10 easy tips to start losing weight. You know.. 1. Don't drink soda 2. Don't eat candy 3. Don't eat huge portions 4. Don't put condiments on your food yadda yadda... Okay what happens when you don't do any of those? What do you do then? I don't eat sugar, I don't eat candy, I don't drink soda, I don't put condiments on my food, I don't eat huge meals..and I don't lose a pound.

LOL!!!.....you don't lose a pound?. OK, it works for me after I don't take too much carbohydrate, but my main carbohydrate is only "high-fibre" bread. Early dinner(before dusk). No night meal, only water. This month I loss 10lbs (4.54kg).

I think the best way to lose weight is just eat sensibly. Eat more veges and fruit and also raising your metabolism helps. Excercise can do that for you. Walking 20 minutes three times a week can do wonders. When I lost weight, I never weighed myself, I felt it was discouraging me. I walked, did simple strength training exercises, and watched what I ate, and lost 30 pounds in three months.

You have to remember to drink lots of water and to eat at least three small meals a day. For the longest time, I didn't eat breakfast, but found out that I was doing more harm then good by letting my body store fat thinking it was hungry and not sure when to eat next. Also, excercise. I know, it's boring, but it works. Take the stairs instead of an elevator. Walk to the corner store instead of driving there.

I eat 3 small meals (300 calories) and 2 snacks (100 calories) a day. I space it out so my metabolism is always working. I feel I do everything right..maybe I'm just supposed to have a spare tire! lol. I wear all my weight right above my hips and my butt...bleh. I do know I need to exersise more, I do little strength exersises while I watch tv at night, but no cardio. Maybe thats what I'm missing.

That might be your problem! I lost a lot of weight (and kept it off) about a year ago and was only successful when I realized that 1100 calories or less made my body conserve energy and fat. One of the best tools I found was fitday dot com. It tells you how many calories you burn, the composition of the food you eat, gives you a pie chart of your fat, carbs, etc after every food you enter that you ate and much more. It's free! Go try it, I bet it helps you a lot. Good luck!

I have to agree with Dragon54U. It sounds to me like your body is in 'famine' mode. My sister had the same problem. She kept reducing her food intake and increasing her exercise and just couldn't seem to lose any weight. She went to her doctor and she said her body thought it was 'starving' so it kept EVERY CALORIE just so it could survive. The doctor also said that perhaps she should seek some counseling. When you get to the point where you 'just have to lose those last 10 pounds' and any cost - you are close to anorexia and need to address that before you cross the line. My sister got help and started eating more - protein especially - and she not only lost the pounds but felt better mentally. You know that starvation also effects how your brain works? I personally use a nutritional cleansing system www.lautz_tm.isagenix.com. It is not only for weight loss but provides you with the nutrition your body craves to stay in balance.

As I read your response to bonitabelle having a spare tire and wearing all your weight right above your hips and butt...Sometime we have to just learn to live with the shape we are given and no matter how much weight we lose we are still shaped the same. Exercise might make that area smaller but it will still be there. I once lost 30 lbs because of illness but when I looked in the mirror I didn’t look like I had lost a pound. I still had the same shape . I thought I would look like those movie stars.

To be honest sometimes eating sensibly doesn't help some people, though that's usually your best bet. But you need to remember to be active and exercise. Even a half hour walk a day does a lot of good. Rather than eating three square meals a day, try eating several smaller meals. Get a bit of what you need in each meal, too, and drink lots of water and suglarless juices.. [I add the juices in there 'cause water gets boring after a while! lol] Goodluck!

I will be honest here. I have lost 250 pds, with in the last 3 years. With out surgery. I will tell you how I did it. Soup once a day and then also I only ate 2/3rds of my plate. I eat everything else, I mean I eat everything but pork and seafood now. I have never felt better and love how I look and feel. Good luck there, Aingealicia

try drinking a lot of water and do some exercise. Eat a balanced diet as well, eating small proportions every now and then only prevents you from eating one huge meal. If i wanna lose weight, I swim regularly and take the stairs instead of the elevator.

They say to eat six small meals a day. Walking helped me when I was trying to loose weight. Maybe you are not loosing the weight because you are stressing about it too much. Stress could be the factor.

From your other post it seems like you eat around 1100 calories a day. For you to lose weight, your calorie intake should be lower than the amount of calories you burn a day. You should also be exercising and do more weight training to get your metabolism up. Here is a helpful link to a site that can start you on a healthy diet and exercise regimen: www.healthylivingonline.com.
