Scrapbooking Mysteries anyone?

My friend let me borrow a book entitled "Motif For Murder" by Laura Childs. It turns out that Childs has written five scrapbooking mystery books. It is really neat because it takes you into the life of an owner of a scrapbooking store in New Orleans. In the book she actually talks about different projects and at the end of the book are directions and recipes from some of the food that is mentioned. It's an easy read, but I thought that it was neat she included descriptions of different things to make. The one I read was the 4th in the series. I was told that they could be read independently, but it still bothered me because I like to start at the first in a series. Has anyone else heard of these books and if so what did you think? I'm going to do one of the projects this weekend.

this is neat! thanks for sharing. it combines two of my hobbies - reading and scrapbooking. i think i shall go and search in my local library first to see whether they have it there. what is the project that you are doing? it is almost like a scrapbooking magazine huh? with things to do as well. i hope she writes well too. mysteries have to be written very grippingly.

Unfortunately there are not any pictures of the projects they do, you just have to imagine it. But I got cans today to make some pencil holders that I'm going to doll up. That was one of the projects they did - I think it'll be nice for my kids to give to their teachers for Valentine's Day. I think I said it was an easy read, but it was still interesting.
