Is MyLot your LIFELINE?

On the "used to be popular" game show "Who Wants to be a millionare" the contestants have to answer questions. If they do not know the answers they get to use what is called "Lifelines". One of those "lifelines" was to poll the audiance for the correct answer. Then they would choose whether or not to believe the audience or not. Have you every used Mylottians as your Lifeline? In other words have you ever posed a question to be answered, then used the answers that were given to solve your delima. If so what are some of your results. Were they right, wrong or did it even matter?

In my time here I've only asked two "lifeline"-able questions (both about odd things with the health). I've gotten some good help. Its not just the help, with those two discussions I got some well wishes too, so that was a nice bonus. On the other side of the coin, I'm usually the one giving advice on all sorts of everyday topics (cooking, computers, chores, education/school, health).

In some I did, but most of the times I'm just seeking for a comfortable opinion to consider. But definitely, I don't take them without also asking myself of what I feel is right for my case. So it doesn't really matter for me if they're right or wrong, the thought of them helping me in some ways would be enough already. I guess that's why most of us do enjoy being here, we get to receive wider views from people coming from almost every part of the world.

true. And if you think about it that is exactly how that games show works. They don't HAVE to go with the audiance. They have a choice to wiegh the opinins first. So I would see you as using it that way some times. Thanks

yes. mylot has become like my lifeline in "who wants to be a millionaire", my help in "1 versus 100" and like buying a vowel in my "wheel of fortune" i've posted questions about my current dilemma in mylot and what othe mylotters helped me alot. it made me see the bigger picture. was able to magnify some factors that i never thought existed.

It is always good to have a different perspective of a situation. Sometimes we are so close to the problem that we can;t see the answer. The old adage "Can't see the forset for all the trees" comes to mind.

I have actually used mylot.com as a "lifeline" before and whenever I posted my question it would only be a matter of minutes before I had an answer to my questions....Most of the questions that I had were actually about mylot.com and the people that had been here awhile had no problem helping me out a little bit...and whenever they would give me answers I would go and take a look at htem and then try the answers out and they were all right on....It mattered to me that they all were willing to help me and that they were actually right!

As I stated in the post above, I think for me it is not that I want an answer all the time, but more just someone to listen and care. Thanks for the reply. :)
