Ebay Sellers- Have you tried to sell somewhere other than Ebay?

I could use some advice. I have been selling on Ebay for 7 years- all sorts of different stuff- kids clothes, books, etc..I make handmade soap and lotion and sell those on Etsy. The Ebay fees are outrageous and I'm getting a little tired of it. I do have many transactions and a good feedback rating. My question is has anyone had any luck selling somewhere else with cheaper fees or even free like Ecrater or Bluejay, Overstock Auctions, Amazon, etc..do you have any luck with traffic? What's your opinion?
Thanks so much for reading!

I have heard of others that have had good luck selling on craigslist and amazon.
Ebay eats away at your profits with all the fees they charge along with the Paypal fees.
It is difficult to make a decent profit.

Amazon is pretty high too- though. I wouldn't mind selling there but I remember their fees being high. But the traffic is there so it might be worth it. Thanks for stopping by.

I've had some luck selling on Craigslist. There is also a Canadian site called kajiji. The trouble with Craigslist is that if you are willing to ship, you have to list in each city independently.

They need to fix craigslist for that shipping problem but I have sold some baby furniture on there. Thanks so much.

In the past I also tried to sell from Ebay. However, it charged me some fee even if I hadn't sold anything yet. Besides, its design is complicated and I feel frustrated to it. Since last year, I started to sell from Taobao and it's much more convenient. I like it as the buyer and seller can have an online chat from its software.

It may have charged you in you signed up for a store? That's a monthly fee. I just got some silver from a seller on Tao and it was beautiful. Thanks for the tip.

I have completely stopped selling on ebay. I used to sell a lot too. It is outrageous and the customer support stinks.
I have moved to ecrater. My advice is to list a few things and mention in your auction to contact you for buy it now or better deals. Then you can direct them to your ecrater store.

Great tip- thanks so much! Looks like so far many people are going the ecrater route. Anything to get off of Ebay....

besides from selling internationally through eBay, I also sell at my local country "ebay" like website. They are lelong.com.my and auction.ph. Perhaps your own country has a similar website catered locally?

I haven't sold there yet but I buy all the time from sell.com
There fees may appear higher (1-4 dollars for one listing)but they don't take a final value fee no matter what your item sells for. And they don't charge you extra to accept best offers or anything like that.
And it is 100% free to buy. I bought my dad the whole series of star trek enterprise on there for $30 including shipping. I couldn't find it for under $100 on eBay.
Look into it. You might like it.

I used ebay for a while but with very little success selling. I recently tried ecrater and I love it. :]
